International Cultural Exchange Committee Meeting Minutes January 13, 2015 • CALL TO ORDER at 5:15pm Members present: Albright, Bald, Cabeen, Landberg Not Present: Alderfer, Chalberg Pool, Kraus. SPAC Liaison: Bob Backus Guest: Denise Snyder • APPROVAL OF MINUTES – November minutes approved as read • TREASURER’S REPORT –Angela reported that accounts are as stand. • WEBSITE- Cynthia- Transition to City Website; GoDaddy account: ICECgeneva.org will now be redirected to the City of Geneva Website. The Vimeo video links will be listed on the website and some pictures are being put together to include. Kevin Stahr is waiting for the City of Geneva approval of our logo. There will be a place to include events, dates and places. • ICEC LOGO- Pam- submitted to City for approval and we are still awaiting the City’s approval. • ECI/GHS MIDDLE SCHOOL EXCHANGES – Pam reported that Marissa Parker will be visiting with GHS and 8th grade GMS students with regard to French students visiting in Geneva this summer. Jony and Perrick spoke to a contact in Paris and are onboard with getting Croissy students interested and signed up early. Pam is also working on the technical aspects of Skyping with students in Croissy. • CROISSY DELEGATION VISIT FALL 2015 – Cynthia will send a formal invitation to Croissy for September 11-15 visit during the Festival of the Vine. Friday will be the welcome and Monday will be reserved for businesses and innovation. Jony will be working on getting new faces involved in this delegation. The delegation will depart on Tuesday • NEW PROJECTS for 2015- updates David- book /film discussion in conjunction with GPLD. Nancy Hanna and the Geneva Film Festival are looking for people to host film directors on March 12 – 14th. David has been working with Kim Goetches and Kathy Wright for a  two hour film presentation with a 90 minute film and 30 minute discussion. Persepolis (2007) PG-13 film was mentioned as a possibility. Kari - continue art project/ exchange with school in Croissy Kari is working to reconnect with an elementary and high school for art projects this spring. Cynthia- Painting en plein air-, GGAG event, May 29-31, 2015. Lorraine Ochsner is invited to attend our February meeting to discuss the support that GGAG needs for this event. Cynthia – future projects- ‘visit on your own’ ; “A Day in the Life” is a project for future consideration. • SWEDISH LIAISON – Lynn will contact Steve Andersson and see if there is anything we can do to move this along. • SWEDEN VAST – Lynn – advance planning for June 2015. • NEXT MEETING DATE- Tuesday, FEBRUARY 17, 2015 at 5:15pm • ADJOURNMENT TIME: 6:10pm
