SInternational Cultural Exchange Committee A Subcommittee of Geneva’s Strategic Advisory Committee SPAC Geneva City Hall Conference Room (2nd floor), 22 South First Street, Geneva, IL 60134 MINUTES: Wednesday, March 11th at 5:15pm  CALL TO ORDER - Members present: Cynthia Albright, Bobbi Alderfer, Angela Chalberg Pool, Pam Cabeen, Lynn Landberg, Guests: Denise Snyder SPAC Liaison – Bob Backus Absent: SPAC Alternate Liaison – Brendan Cassin – David Bald, Kari Kraus  APPROVAL OF MINUTES- Lynn- February minutes were approved with corrections.  TREASURER’S REPORT –Angela- accounts update – ICEC currently has $1950.00 which includes Graham’s and Gift Certificate for Banner Designers. The banner from BannerUp cost $220.00 so our current balance is $1729.00. We are planning to raise funds and utilize the money from SPAC to host a delegation from France this autumn. Previous delegations require about $3,000.00 to host. Our surplus from SPAC will allow us to purchase incidentals and gifts for hosts and the delegation.  WEBSITE- Cynthia- City Website landing page; ICEC is not public yet. Thank you, Kevin Stahr! We need to add photos, vimeo links via Nancy Hannah; can link to a photo gallery of past ICEC events (with captions). Kevin can also create e-mail for board members. GoDaddy account- Cynthia – will make necessary changes to deactivate icecgeneva.org  BANNER – Cynthia- ready to display at GPLD film event on Sunday, March 15!  GPLD FILM EVENT- David and Pam- Sunday March 15, 1-3pm. Plan to attend!! The film will be shown in the lower level meeting room and will be ninety-seven minutes long with a film discussion after.  ECI/GHS/MIDDLE SCHOOL EXCHANGES – Pam informed us that Marissa Parker visited all GHS French Students on February 5 th. Geneva will have hopefully, ten to twelve guest homes for French students. Six to seven have already signed up. Croissy has just started their process and their information will be needed by the end of March. We may have an excess of host homes. Valerie is the ECI contact in France and has met with Jony and Perrick.  CROISSY DELEGATION VISIT FALL 2015 – Cynthia informed us that the official invitation has been sent to Croissy. Dates September 11 -15, 2015 THEME: The River; please send suggestions for events/ tours/venues to Cynthia by March 20. Various ideas were submitted to Cynthia during the meeting which include Luncheon ideas, tours, museum visitations and libraries.  FUNDRAISER- Bobbi- discuss dates, venues, themes - SAVE THE DATE ideas include May 5, 12 and 19th. Denise and Bobbi will work together on venues and dates. Silent auctions, door prizes and donations were discussed during the meeting.  NEW PROJECTS for 2015- updates *Kari - continue art project/ exchange with school in Croissy * Cynthia- GGAG event tie in: painting ‘en plein air’, Friday May 29. David suggested that GAGG might use the video, “Tale of Two Cities” to present at the Geneva History Center during their art event. Cynthia will check with GHC about that video. *Future projects - ‘visit on your own’; “A Day in the Life”  SWEDISH LIAISON – Lynn will continue to work with Steve Andersson.  SWEDEN VAST – Cynthia will be in touch with Laura Rush at the Chamber of Commerce to let her know that we will not be participating in Sweden Vast on Saturday, JUNE 27th this year.  TRANSITIONS- Cynthia- terms ending April 30: Bobbi, David, Kari, Lynn. Lynn Landberg is leaving the board. Denise Snyder is joining the board.  NEXT MEETING DATE - Tuesday, April 7th.  ADJOURNMENT at 6:33pm
