International Cultural Exchange Committee A Subcommittee of Geneva’s Advisory Committee SPAC Geneva City Hall –Date: January 13, 2016 Draft Minutes 1. Meeting called to order at 5:13pm 2. Members present: Albright, Bald, Cabeen, Chalberg-Pool, Alderfer, Kraus, and Snyder Members absent: none SPAC liaison present: Cassin SPAC liaison absent: Clements 3. Approval of November minutes: Cabeen moved -- Bald second 4. Treasurer report: Approximately $2300 in our accounts 5. GPLD Sunday Cinema: This is now being called Foreign Film Sunday. This month, the Japanese film, “Departures” was shown and member David Bald led a discussion after the film. This showing was much better attended than previous films. As a group, we will continue to encourage the community to attend these film dates. 6. Friendraiser: Our board would like to hold an event that would be a get together for ICEC supporters. This would be an event to update our supporters with all of the various ICEC happenings. We are looking at dates in March, April, or May. 7. ECI visit to GHS or GMSS and GMSN: no new update 8. Contact from another exchange group: no new update 9. Media: Jim Alderfer continues to help us with Google Drive 10. Update from Croissy: A delegation from Geneva has been invited to participate in a 4 city exchange exhibition. We are considering this invitation. In addition to a couple Board members we will seek involved ICEC supporters that would go to Croissy. These would staff the Geneva exhibit area, speaking to people who are attending the event. The exhibit will include a curated photo exhibit, maps and history of Geneva along with Croissy’s other exchange cities. 11. Photo Gallery: no update 12. Art project: no update 13.
