International Cultural Exchange Committee A Subcommittee of Geneva’s Advisory Committee SPAC Geneva City Hall – Date: March 15, 2016 Minutes 1. The meeting was called to order at 5:21pm. 2. Members present: Albright, Chalberg Pool, Alderfer, Kraus, Cabeen, and Snyder Members absent: Bald SPAC liaison present: Clements SPAC liaison absent: Cassin 3. Approval of January minutes: Chalberg Pool moved Cabeen second. 4. Treasurer’s report: no update 5. GPLD Foreign Film Sunday: Attendance is growing and D. Bald has done a great job leading the film discussion after the showing. 6. Friendraiser: Still in discussion phase. Could possibly tie into Bastille Day or could possible do a Mexican Restaurant crawl. Will continue to explore ideas and dates/ 7. ECI visit to GHS and GMSN/GMSS: Marissa has visited the high school. She is hoping for 3-4 students participating from Croissy in addition to all of the other French students who will be participating in the program. 8. Friendship Garden: P. Cabeen contacted the Geneva Garden Club. Due to monetary expense in purchasing a large urn and the Garden Club protocol (3-4 planting changes throughout the season)…ICEC has decided not to pursue this idea. 9. Update from Croissy: A delegation from Geneva has been invited to participate in a 4 city exchange exhibition. This exhibit will include a curated photo exhibit, maps, and history of Geneva along with Croissy’s other exchange cities. Brian DeWolf attended the meeting to help us understand the various options for printing photos for the exhibit…both with quality of photos and price of shipping information. We are now preparing an invitation to encourage GHS students and local photographers to send in photos of Geneva for consideration. We will also be contacting the Geneva History Museum for additional items that could be included in our exhibit. ICEC is also discussing who might be attending the exhibit and be  representatives of Geneva. We are looking for 4-6 people including possible Board members. 10.
