International Cultural Exchange Committee A Subcommittee of Geneva’s Advisory Committee SPAC Geneva City Hall – Date: April 12, 2016 Minutes 1. The meeting was called to order at 5:20pm. 2. Members present: Albright, Bald, Chalberg Pool, Alderfer, and Snyder Members absent: Kraus and Cabeen SPAC liaison present: none SPAC absent: Clements and Cassin 3. Approval of March minutes: Chalberg Pool moved, Alderfer second 4. Treasurer’s report: no update 5. GPLD Foreign Film: Per D. Bald, film attendance has improved and is going well. Looking for a discussion leader for the May film. 6. Friend-raiser Event: D. Snyder will contact Chez Moi and see if the owner Beth would be interested in hosting an event for a get together for ICEC’s friends and followers. It would be nice to tie into Bastille Day, but will work with owner for a compatible date for all. 7. ECI update: Marissa from ECI has contacted Jony and let him know there are many potential Geneva host families for the French teen visit. No kids from Croissy have signed up to join the delegation. 8. Media update: still a work in progress. 9. Terms: The following people’s terms are ending in April: C. Albright, A. Chalberg Pool, and P Cabeen. All three board members are willing to continue on in their current roles. 10. Updates from Croissy: ICEC Committee members working on putting together a poster to announce that we are seeking photographs of Geneva to be submitted for the Croissy Exhibit. We will be working with Water Street Studios for the photography selection process. Photos will be sent to Croissy along with other Geneva artifacts for the exhibit. Upon return, there will be an additional exhibit held at Water Street Studios of the Geneva portion of the exhibit. Still looking for Geneva residents that might be representatives at the exhibit. 11. October invitation to Croissy: TBD 12. Next Meeting Date – Tuesday May 10 5:15 13. Adjournment: 6:39pm
