City of Geneva Strategic Plan Advisory Committee Geneva City Hall Geneva, IL 60134 Wednesday, July 15, 2015 6:00 pm 1. Call to Order – Meeting called to order by Brault at 6:01pm 2. Roll Call – Backus, Brault, Cassin, Clements, Janis, Juby, Main, Merrill, Sarangabany. Also present Stephanie Dawkins Absent – none 3. Welcome Guests – Alderman Bruno, Singer, and Marks 4. Amendments to the Agenda – added Mary McKittrick in attendance at last meeting Approved: Cassin; 2nd Main. Motion carried unanimously 5. Approval of Submitted Reports a. Approval of Minutes –Approved: Cassin; 2nd Main. Motion carried unanimously b. Approval of Budget –Approved: Merrill; 2nd Juby. Motion carried unanimously 6. Sub Committee Reports a. NRC – Juby/Cassin – - Successful Earth Day event; 2016 date April 23rd at Peck Farm - Landscape project going well - Trees will be planted in September 2015 - Wine Trees and Cheese 2016 looking for venue - Volunteers needed for work days b. ICEC – Backus – - Fundraiser on May 19, Wildwood – 55 guests attended - August date for picnic with exchange students - 15 attendees for event in September - August 11 next meeting c. Student Government – Sarangabany - - School starts August 19 - Officers were elected at the last meeting 7. Debrief Aldermen on progress to date – Brault explained the process that SPAC has been using to go through the Strategic Plan and prioritize the visions. The goal is to have a “guideline” to present to the City Council prior to their November work session. 8. Strategic Plan Goal Prioritization – SPAC completed the prioritization of Vision 5. Next month we will take on the final two visions, 6 & 7. Main will combine the various versions of the prioritization to present. Alderman Bruno suggested that perhaps SPAC could meet with the selected consultant prior to the November work session. 9. Additional Business – Calendar Review a. SPAC Social on Sunday, July 19th at 3:00 p.m. b. Joint meeting with the City Council on August 31st at 7:00 p.m. c. Town Hall Social tentatively scheduled for September 19th. Jennifer will check into reserving Wheeler Park. d. Next Meeting August 19th at 6:00 p.m. 11. Adjournment - 1st Cassin; 2nd Juby- Motion carried unanimously at 7:10PM
