Call to Order – Meeting called to order by Brault, Juby so moved, Merrill second at 6:03 pm 2. Roll Call – Backus, Brault, Cassin, Janis, Juby, Main, Merrill, Sarangabany. Also present Stephanie Dawkins Absent – Clements 3. Special Guests – Burghart, Maladra and Simonian 4. Amendments to the Agenda – none Approved: Cassin; 2nd Sarangabany. Motion carried unanimously 5. Approval of Submitted Reports a. Approval of Minutes –Amendment to NRC Earth Day date: April 16, 2015. Approved: Juby; 2nd Cassin. Motion carried unanimously b. Approval of Budget –Approved: Merrill; 2nd Juby Motion carried unanimously 6. Sub Committee Reports a. NRC – Juby/Cassin – • Earth Day date for 2016 – April 16  Earth Day topic - Landscape project – Question: how to plant for a native landscape within a confided space  Recruiting more people; need more volunteers  Green Incentivizes - Centennial Gardens planned venue for Earth Day and rain barrels to sell  October 3rd Batavia Reserves outing b. ICEC – Cassin - • Croissy-sur-Seine, Geneva’s cultural partner, will visit Geneva from September 11-15, 2015. ICEC has planned several events, following their theme “The River.” • Final plans for the delegation houses and progressive dinner are made • Thanks to SPAC for the lovely outing c. Student Government – Sarangabany - • School started; officers met to strategize for the upcoming year • Student Government Committee meetings will be held twice each month on the 1st and the 3rd Thursdays. The 3rd meeting of each month will be moderated by Stephanie to review various City Council meeting topics. SPAC members are welcome to attend either meeting. Location has yet to be determined for the 1st meeting of the month. The second meeting takes place at City Hall in Council Chambers. • School fair to highlight the different clubs; will be recruiting heavily for a new members • First Student Government Committee meeting to be held on September 17th with the topic being ‘air rifles.’ • New t-shirt design - each of the four officers will draft and submit a design for the new t-shirt  d. SPAC Annual Social - Brault • Great get together; was a success! • Brault spoke to Albright, ICEC President about taking his daughter to Paris in September. Albright suggested that Brault and his daughter visit our sister city, Croissy-sur-Seine and meet the people from there. Albright made the arrangements and Brault and his daughter will be visiting Croissy-sur-Seine for half a day. 7. Strategic Plan Priority Review – Debrief Aldermen Burghart, Maladra and Simonian on progress to date a. Explained the process SPAC goes by, working through the visions 8. Strategic Plan Prioritization – complete the prioritization of the final visions in the strategic plan 9. Additional Business –  Proposed new sub-committee with Dave Peterson possibly heading this committee up. Brault will contact Peterson to discuss.  The committee will help the City clean up the graffiti that may occur throughout the City. SPAC will fund the paint for this project.  Revisit the date and time for the townhall meeting scheduled for September 19th.  Next agenda: Brault and committee to discuss and plan the next SPAC social for 2016  Merrill to send Main and Dawkins completed spreadsheet for prep of voter’s guide  All members to contact their alderman and start the process of information sharing in preparation for the joint Committee of the Whole meeting on August 31.  Cancelling September 19 – Townhall/Ice cream Social  Next goal setting/revision meeting August 26th at 6:30pm  August 31 – Joint Committee of the Whole/SPAC meeting 7:00PM  Next SPAC monthly meeting September 16  Placeholder if needed, SPAC review of goals and visions September 23rd at 6:30pm 10.
