City of Geneva Strategic Plan Advisory Committee Geneva City Hall Geneva, IL 60134 October 21, 2015 6:00 pm 1. Call to Order – Meeting called to order by Brualt at 6:00pm 2. Roll Call – Brault, Cassin, Clements, Janis, Juby, Main, Merrill, Sarangabany. Also present Stephanie Dawkins Cassin left the meeting at 6:04 3. Amendments to the Agenda – none 4. Approval of Submitted Reports a. Approval of Minutes – Main; 2nd Sarangabany Approval of Budget – Clements; 2nd Main 5. Sub Committee Reports NRC – Cassin a. Green Incentive: trees will be planted at the Geneva schools in spring of 2016. b. Wine, Trees and Cheese event slated for March 5 c. Earth Day is scheduled for April 2016. Clean up of the river bank is on the agenda for that day. d. Rain barrel discussion is tabled for now e. Fabian Preserves work day to clean up was well attended. Student Government – Sarangabany a) Gun control was the subject of discussion and went well b) Shirts and the design were decided and a prototype shown to SPAC c) Field trip on Nov 17 to shadow officials of the City of Geneva. The mock city council meeting topic will be the business district. ICEC – Clements a) Exploring ways to share documents b) Sunday cinema may be discontinued, not promoting this year c) Delegation visit went well d) Friendship Garden between Geneva and our sister city – plans and templates to be shared Graffiti Project – Peterson a) New committee - Single committee member with no meetings b) Projects will be funneled through Dawkins 6. Strategic Plan Priority Review – a. November 6, 2015 the Mayor, committee men and Brault will meet to discuss the 2017 priorities for the City. b. Wall sheets for: i. Highlights of the ten goals picked by SPAC ii. Completed or committed goals  c. Brault to give a ten minute overview at beginning of meeting that includes: i. What is expected of the City ii. What the citizens want iii. Offer help to implement 7. New business – a. New idea – propose putting in new goals from the aldermen, first inviting them to attend a SPAC meeting, helping to vet and adopt new goals b. Applications for open position – no applications to date 8. Calendar review – SPAC Holiday Party – December 9th at 6:30 9. Adjournment - 1st Main; 2nd Clements - Motion carried unanimously at 7:26PM
