OLD BUSINESS a. ITEM: 1600 Cleveland Road: Design Review of Proposed Additions, Facade Alterations, Garage Demolition, and Construction of New Garage (continued from October 20, 2022 hearing) PDRNRAF 2207395 PROJECT DESCRIPTION The applicant is proposing to construct a 1,124-square-foot one-story addition at the side and rear of the existing single-family house. The applicant is also proposing to demolish the existing detached garage and construct a new 400-square-foot garage located approximately 12-feet to the rear of the existing garage. ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION The project is exempt from CEQA review as a Class 1 “Existing Facilities” exemption pursuant to Section 15301 of the State CEQA Guidelines because it is a minor addition to an existing building. It is also exempt as a Class 31 “Historic Restoration or Rehabilitation" pursuant to Section 15331 of the State CEQA Guidelines because the project, if approved by the Historic Preservation Commission (HPC), will remain a contributor to the South Cumberland Heights Historic District. 7.
