AGENDA HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION Municipal Services Building 633 E. Broadway, Room 105 Glendale, CA 91206 Meetings are broadcast live on Glendale TV, viewable on Spectrum Cable, channel 6, and AT&T U- verse, channel 99. Meetings are also streamed live in high definition (HD) on the city's webpage, glendaleca.gov/live, on YouTube.com/myglendale, and on Apple TV, Roku, and Amazon Fire devices using a free app called Screenweave and choosing “Glendale TV” from the menu. Assisted listening devices are available same-day upon request. At least 48 hours (or two business days) notice is required for requests regarding sign language translation and Braille transcription services. All documents related to open session items on this agenda that are received less than 72 hours prior to this meeting, and are public records, will be available for review in the Planning Division, Municipal Services Building, 633 E. Broadway, RM 103. Translation services are provided for meetings through the use of bilingual staff for speakers who wish to utilize the service as available. APPROVAL OF MINUTES a. Approval of Historic Preservation Commission Minutes from May 18, 2023 1 4. ORAL COMMUNICATION Discussion is limited to items not a part of this agenda. Each speaker is limited to 5 minutes. Glendale Historic Preservation Commission may question or respond to the speaker but there will be no debate or decision. 5. BOARD/COMMISSION MEMBER COMMENTS 6. ITEM: 3620 Angelus Avenue: Request by Property Owner to Extend Mills Act Deadline for Window Replacement PMA 1621655 PROJECT DESCRIPTION Request by the property owner of 3620 Angelus Avenue to extend the Mills Act deadline for installing new wood windows. ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION The project is exempt from CEQA as a Class 31 “Historical Resource Restoration/Rehabilitation” exemption pursuant to Section15331 of the State CEQA Guidelines because it involves the protection/preservation of a historic resource. 7. NEW BUSINESS a. ITEM: 926 Hillcroft Road: Glendale Register Nomination and Mills Act Application PGR-001081-2023 PROJECT DESCRIPTION 926 Hillcroft Road: Glendale Register Nomination and Mills Act Application ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION The project is exempt from CEQA as a Class 8 “Actions by Regulatory Agencies for Protection of the Environment” exemption and a Class 31 “Historical Resource Restoration/Rehabilitation” exemption pursuant to Sections 15308 and 15331 of the State CEQA Guidelines because it involves the designation and protection/preservation of a historic resource. b. ITEM: Review of Proposed Second-Story Addition at 1544 Ard Eevin Avenue PDR-000329-2022 PROJECT DESCRIPTION Review of Proposed Second-Story Addition at 1544 Ard Eevin Avenue ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION 2 The project is exempt from CEQA review as a Class 1 “Existing Facilities” exemption pursuant to Section 15301 of the State CEQA Guidelines because it is a minor addition to an existing building. It is also exempt as a Class 31 “Historic Restoration or Rehabilitation" pursuant to Section 15331 of the State CEQA Guidelines because the project, if approved by the Historic Preservation Commission (HPC), will remain a contributor to the South Cumberland Heights Historic District. 8.
