V. Discussions
1. Social Media Impact
• Max Gilles summarizes the Social Media Impact discussion item.
• Commissioner Clark asks about negative comments and interactions on the
social media channels. Specifically, in regard to the tone used by the channels,
especially when coming from a government account.
• Gilles responds that while they do exist, data shows that they are a small minority
of the total engagement. Gilles says that himself and other city departments work
closely with the Office of Communications to make sure the tone remains
appropriate and differentiates between department accounts and the City wide
account which keeps a more serious and professional approach. Gilles also adds
that many time when engaged with, the negative comments become more
positive after a short conversation.
2. Micromobility Ridership Summary
· Trent Cerra summarizes the Micromobility Ridership Summary discussion
item.
· Commissioner Clark asks what safety warnings or advice is given when riders
start a ride with the app.
· Cerra responds that there is a message that shows up when you start a ride.
The message shows you the proper rules that need to be followed when
using the app and riding the devices. Staff is still focusing on increasing
safety messaging outside the app to help increase safe riding behavior.
· Commissioner Parkes asks about messaging related to folks who were not
properly using the DPZs and leaving scooters or bikes in the sidewalk.
· Cerra responds that there is a fine for the bad behavior currently, but staff can
certainly make that a priority with messaging also.
· Naramore responds that staff have been able to see full data related to
scooter and bicycle safety, while there has been crashes related to drinking,
overall the data shows that it is much safer to be using the scooters or
bicycles than using a vehicle, especially when drinking. Of course, transit is
the best option.
· Commissioner Monoyios asks what the peak usage time is for the scooters
and bikes.

· Cerra responds that generally the peak usage time is between 6pm and
midnight.
· Commissioner Monoyios asks if there is any way the riders can be surveyed.
Specifically curious about trip types and how people are using the service.
· Cerra responds that lime does have the capability to do a user survey and
that is something staff can look into. Cerra also adds that staff will be
surveying participants and riders that take part in the Lime Affordability Pass
program that is upcoming.
