Stats., for purposes of deliberating or negotiating the sale of public properties, investing of public funds or conducting other specified public business as necessary for competitive or bargaining reasons. The Committee will thereafter reconvene in open session pursuant to Section 19.85(2), Wis. BACKGROUND At the February 2, 2022, RDA meeting, the Authority voted to approve staff to proceed on a partnership project with UWGB and Base Companies, LLC to rehab 158 N. Maple Avenue to house the Community Based Learning Center (The Center). The Center will house 5-6 students plus the Center for Civic Engagement’s AmeriCorp Vista fellow who will work with and help coordinate many of the activities. In exchange for reduced rent, students will commit to a year-long community-based learning project with local organizations, NGOs, community groups, or the city to gain valuable practical experience, to foster community development, and strengthen connections between UWGB and the city. Staff would like to provide the Real Estate Subcommittee with an update and seek guidance on moving the project forward. RECOMMENDATION To approve and forward to the RDA a plan for the redevelopment of 158 N. Maple Avenue. FISCAL IMPACT ATTACHMENTS 1. Community Based Learning Center 2.
