dollars for these programs instead
2. Include provision requiring Council approval for any substantial changes to the program scope,
criteria and guidelines included in the Task Force Initiatives Summary (on file document)
COMMENTS/DISCUSSION POINTS
1. The legislation authorizes direct contracts with the Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville to
administer the Direct Grants for Artists ($750k) and CPAC Public Art Initiative ($150k). Per the
Administration, the Cultural Council will not retain a portion of the funding for administrative
costs. We want to ensure that the Cultural Council is aware they will be administering these
programs without funding to cover their administrative costs and is able to cover their costs
through other funding sources.
2. The CPAC Public Art Initiative does not set aside any funding for maintenance or
administration of the art as required by Chapter 126, Part 9 of the Ordinance Code.
