CONCERN: The City has not received the grant funds yet from the Cities for Financial Empowerment Fund. Typically funds are not appropriated from a private entity until the funds have been received. The Cities for Financial Empowerment Fund will pay the City $80,000 to fund a partnership with the United Way of Northeast Florida for financial navigation services for families impacted by COVID-19. The City will receive 90% of the funds ($72,000) upon contract execution and the remaining 10% ($8,000) upon a final report and documentation of project spending. KHA plans to request the funding after Council approves this legislation.
