Under Phase 5, all sectors of the economy can resume at regular capacity with new safety guidelines and procedures. Pursuant to the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity’s Guidelines, it is recommended that any individual appearing in-person who is not fully vaccinated wear a face-covering to cover their nose and mouth. Citizens who are unable to attend the meeting can email comments in advance of the meeting to publiccomment@joliet.gov. ROLL CALL Also present, Tycee Bell and Marcus Cage, presenting. Present Quinn Adamowski, Eryn Blaser, Valerie Devine, Erick Deshaun Dorris, Eric Gorder, Lauren Las, Brett Marcum, Megan Millen, Sue Regis and Peg (Marguerite) Stoiber Absent Lori Carmine, Roxianna Fuqua, Crystal Malone, Jennifer Moore, Theresa Rouse, John Simpson Jr and Deborah Summers APPROVAL OF MINUTES A motion was made by Marcum, seconded by Millen, that the May 19, 2021 meeting minutes be approved. PRESENTATIONS Joliet Focus / Shaw Media - Tycee Bell and Marcus Cage Public Art / ARP Ask - Erick Deshaun Dorris, Chairperson NEW BUSINESS Committee Reports Funding Committee - Eryn Blaser, Chairperson Funding Subcommittee chairperson Eryn Blaser provided an update on the subcommitee's recent activity including grants being applied for, fundraisers and other activities. Arts Incubation Committee - Quinn Adamowski, Chairperson The Incubation Subcommittee did not provide an update since they have not met since the last Arts Commission meeting. Partnerships & Community Engagement - Valerie Devine & Dr. Theresa Rouse, Co-Chairpersons Co-chairperson Val Devine provided an update on the Partnerships & Community Engagement subcommittee activity. The subcommittee reviewed their pre-pandemic activity and ultimately agreed that they will wait to add any non-voting members and will allow some ongoing Arts Commission initiatives to develop further before developing goals for the upcoming year.
