City of Joliet 150 West Jefferson Street Joliet, IL 60432 Meeting Minutes - Final Tuesday, January 19, 2021 6:00 PM City Hall, Conference Room 1 Arts Commission - Funding Subcommittee Committee Members Eryn Blaser Erick Deshaun Dorris Roxianna Fuqua Crystal Malone Arts Commission - Funding Subcommittee Meeting Minutes - Final January 19, 2021 Page 1 of 1 Arts Commission - Funding Subcommittee Meeting Minutes - Final January 19, 2021 The Governor’s Office and the Illinois Department of Public Health activated a Tier 3 mitigation plan for all regions of the State of Illinois, effective Friday, November 20, 2020. In an effort to support these mitigation measures, the City of Joliet is limiting in person attendance in the council chambers to 10 people. During meetings, groups of 10 people will be staged in various locations within city hall. These groups will wait in areas with a live feed to the meeting until the Citizens to Be Heard on Agenda items section, the Public Hearing has commenced or the Public Comments section of the meeting has commenced. Speakers will be rotated into Council Chambers to allow everyone an opportunity to speak. Pursuant to the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity’s Guidelines, it is recommended that any individual appearing in-person wear a face-covering to cover their nose and mouth. Citizens who are unable to attend the meeting can email comments in advance of the meeting to publiccomment@joliet.gov OR register “To Be Called To Speak”. ROLL CALL Present Chairperson Eryn Blaser, Erick Deshaun Dorris and Crystal Malone Absent Roxianna Fuqua APPROVAL OF MINUTES A motion was made by Erick Deshaun Dorris, seconded by Crystal Malone, to approve October 7, 2020 meeting minutes. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Chairperson Blaser, Dorris and Malone Absent: Fuqua TMP-0820 Attachments: 1007 Funding Sbc. REVISITING AND REVIEWING NEXT STEPS AND FUTURE FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES TO FOCUS ON IN 2021 Grant Opportunities Subcommittee discussed and reviewed over grant opportunities from the last subcommittee meeting. The subcommittee discussed and looked at possible grant opportunities with deadlines approaching in the near future. Working towards campaign, scholarship, and/or fund in honor of related work Subcommittee discussed the ideas of having smaller events that could be virtual and outdoors. The subcommittee discussed the importance of creating partnerships, to create opportunities and connections. Walk of Fame Subcommittee discussed ideas for culminating event that could possibly take place later in the year depending on Covid-19 restrictions. REVIEW TIMELINE FOR FUTURE ITEMS Planning for Future Subcommittee Meetings Next meeting to take place on February 10, 2021 Recommendations for Funding Subcommittee Members in the Future The subcommittee discussed possible recommendations.
