Under Phase 5, all sectors of the economy can resume at regular capacity with new safety guidelines and procedures. In compliance with Center for Disease Control (CDC), it is recommended that any individual appearing in person wear a face-covering to cover their nose and mouth. Citizens who are unable to attend the meeting can email comments in advance of the meeting to publiccomment@joliet.gov. ROLL CALL Present Chairperson Eryn Blaser, Erick Deshaun Dorris and Crystal Malone Absent Roxianna Fuqua, Lizbeth Aviles and Christina Bourne APPROVAL OF MINUTES A motion was made by Malone, seconded by Dorris, that the July 13, 2021 minutes be approved. The motion carried unanimously. TMP-2193 Attachments: July 13 2021 Funding Sbcm Meeting Minutes CITIZENS TO BE HEARD ON AGENDA ITEMS REVIEWING PAST AND CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES Grant Update The subcommittee discussed the updates on the grant that was applied for back in the spring, no further updates at this time. The subcommittee discussed other grant opportunities and doing more research. CCP in conjunction with the Arts Commission Project Updates The subcommittee discussed project updates and where the project is currently. The subcommittee discussed the event that took place for the unveiling of the sculptures, the art work, raffle, partnerships, and the future plans. The subcommittee discussed the importance of sharing out more information about the artists, art works, and the importance and purpose for the raffle. FUTURE FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES TO FOCUS ON IN 2021 Raffle The subcommittee discussed the importance of sharing out more information about the artists, art works, and the importance and purpose for the raffle. Page 1 of 2 Arts Commission - Funding Subcommittee Meeting Minutes - Final August 5, 2021 Partnerships/Collaborations The subcommittee discussed reconnecting on opportunities with health and arts. The subcommittee discussed collaborations with the Will County Health Department and local artists. The subcommittee discussed possible connections and starting some conversations on these possible collaborations. Art Walk The subcommittee discussed taking more time to plan for this type of event due to needing more time and the COVID-19. The subcommittee discussed possibly looking to the spring or summer time of 2022, but to start working on plan now. Other Ideas The subcommittee discussed the ARP Funds REVIEW TIMELINE FOR FUTURE ITEMS Planning for future Funding Subcommittee Meetings The subcommittee discussed having the next meeting on Wednesday, September 8th, 2021. Non-Voting Members The subcommittee discussed possible individuals to reach out to. NEW OR OLD BUSINESS, NOT FOR FINAL ACTION OR RECOMMENDATION None. PUBLIC COMMENT None. ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Dorris, seconded by Malone, that the August 5, 2021 meeting be adjourned. The motion carried unanimously. This meeting will be held in an accessible location.
