Meeting Minutes - Final November 4, 2021
As of August 30, 2021, Governor Pritzker announced a statewide indoor mask mandate for all Illinois residents, regardless of
vaccination status.
In compliance with Governor Pritzker’s mandate, any individual appearing in person must wear a face-covering to cover their
nose and mouth.
Citizens who are unable to attend the meeting can email comments in advance of the meeting to publiccomment@joliet.gov.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A motion was made by Dorris, seconded by Malone, that the August 5, 2021 meeting minutes
be approved . The motion carried by the following vote:

REVIEWING PAST OPPORTUNITIES
Grant Updates
The subcommittee discussed the grant that was applied for back in the spring and the outcomes. The
subcommittee discussed having more discussion and to work towards a plan to share with The Whole
Arts Commission. The subcommittee discussed other grant opportunities and doing more research.
CCP in Conjunction with Arts Commission Project Reflection
The subcommittee discussed and reviewed over the process of the event, project, and the
process, and the raffle. The subcommittee discussed what the positive outcomes and the
challenges were. The subcommittee discussed the importance of artist feedback.
FUTURE FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES TO FOCUS ON IN 2021 AND 2022
The subcommittee discussed and reviewed over these past opportunities we have focused on this
past year. The subcommittee focused discussions on the top opportunities we felt could start to
develop and plan for at the end of 2021 and into 2022.

Raffle
None.
Partnerships/Collaborations
The subcommittee discussed the connecting and possible opportunities with health and arts. The
subcommittee discussed collaborations with the Will County Health Department and local artists.
The subcommittee discussed other possible connections within dance and media arts as well. The
subcommittee discussed continuing conversations on these possible collaborations.
Art Walk
The subcommittee discussed possibly looking towards the summer time of 2022, but to start working
on plan now. The subcommittee discussed the importance of having as many local Arts organizations
and artists be a part of this opportunity and experience. The subcommittee discussed the importance
of brainstorming and setting a plan in place to make this event happen.
Gala (JALA)
The subcommittee discussed that for 2022 we can continue to think and brainstorm ideas for this
event, but to focus on other possible events and opportunities at this time.
Other Ideas
The subcommittee brainstormed how the above ideas may work together, timelines and
needs to execute.
REVIEW TIMELINE FOR FUTURE ITEMS
Planning for Future Funding Subcommittee Meetings
The subcommittee discussed a few possible dates, but a date was not set at the meeting. The dates
that were discussed where” Monday November 29th, Thursday December 9th, or Thursday December
16th.
Goals and Items that can be worked on before next meeting
The subcommittee discussed having goals and items that can be worked on by November 16th, 2021.

A motion was made by Malone, seconded by Dorris, that the November 4, 2021 meeting be
adjourned. The motion carried unanimously.
