APPROVAL OF MINUTES TMP-4094 Attachments: 6.29.22 MINUTES for the Arts Commission Funding Subcommittee 3. CITIZENS TO BE HEARD ON AGENDA ITEMS None. This section is for anyone wanting to speak regarding agenda items and are allowed a maximum of 4 minutes. It is not a question and answer period and staff, and the Commission members do not generally respond to public comments. The City Clerk has a copy of the public speaking procedures; please note, speakers who engage in conduct injurious to the harmony of the meeting shall be called to order by the Presiding Officer and may forfeit the opportunity to speak. 4. FUTURE FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES TO FOCUS ON IN 2022 A. Art Walk The subcommittee discussed all the different logistics that needed to take place and what was taken care of in regards to preparing for the Art Walk event. Currently the paperwork for the event was turned in and working on having the draft for the sponsorships, businesses to participate, and call for artists and musicians were created to be ready for approval. B. Sponsorships/Partnerships The subcommittee discussed and looked over the new draft of the sponsorship paperwork. The subcommittee discussed some of the edits and changes that needed to be made before sharing with the full Arts Commission. The subcommittee also discussed the paperwork to encourage local businesses to participate and call for artists and musicians. C. Interactive Art The subcommittee discussed the ideas for the interactive art work that will be displayed and created during the event in the Chicago Street parking lot. The subcommittee was able to see an example of the trees that will be created and brought to life as one enters the “Journey of the Trees”. Next Steps The subcommittee discussed making sure all the paper work for the event: sponsorship, call for businesses to participate, and call for artists and musicians can be completed to share out to the Whole Arts Commission by Thursday June 14th. The subcommittee discussed elements such as a rain plan, double checking on the security plan, speakers, and a possible reception to honor the artists at the end of the event. E. Other Ideas The subcommittee discussed how the smaller scale murals could be displayed throughout the city once completed. 5. GRANT The subcommittee discussed the grant process and steps that are being taken to finish the submission processes of the NEA grant. 6. REVIEW TIMELINE FOR FUTURE ITEMS A. Planning for Future Subcommittee Meetings The subcommittee discussed having our next meeting on Wednesday August 3rd, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. B. Goals and Items that van be Worked on Before Next Meeting The subcommittee discussed making sure all paper work is edited and turned in to share to the Whole Arts Commission to review. Then the subcommittee discussed reaching out to businesses, artists, and musicians once approved. 7. OLD OR NEW BUSINESS NOT FOR FINAL ACTION OR RECOMMENDATION None 8. PUBLIC COMMENT None.
