As of June 11, 2021, Governor Pritzker moved Illinois to Phase 5. Under Phase 5, all sectors of the economy can resume at
regular capacity with new safety guidelines and procedures.
Pursuant to the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity’s Guidelines, it is recommended that any
individual appearing in-person who is not fully vaccinated wear a face-covering to cover their nose and mouth.

CITY MANAGER:
The City Manager briefly discussed the remaining union contracts negotiations.
NEW BUSINESS (Not for Final Action or Recommendation):
In response to Councilman Clement's question, the City Manager discussed an update on the
Senior Tequila site.
In response to Councilwoman Gavin's question, the City Manager informed the Council the
City was denied a grant for police body cameras.
Councilman Guerrero spoke regarding the need for body cameras.
Councilman Hug asked staff to look into additional options for insurance coverage.
Mayor O'Dekirk briefly discussed the union contracts.
PUBLIC COMMENTS:
Dan Kallan spoke regarding the status of the proposed hotel and permits for 71 N Ottawa
Street.
Mike Devito, President of Fraternal Order of Police Labor Council thanked the Mayor and
Council.
Diane Harris, owner of It is Amazing on 76 N. Jefferson Street, discussed parking on Chicago
Street.

Andrew Chambers spoke regarding increase of gun violence and addressing the problem .
Karl Ferrell spoke regarding legislation, police reform, and finding resolutions.
MAYOR AND COUNCIL COMMENTS:
Councilman Clement highlighted a Cruise Night at Terry D'Arcy Car Show to raise funds for a
van for Lawson Sizemore and his Illinois Rock and Roll Museum tour.
Councilwoman Gavin highlighted the Forest Park Community Center - PACT Camp (Police
and Children Together).
Councilman Guerrero spoke regarding conversation happening with community regarding gun
violence and the community.
Councilman Hug thanked everyone who attended the Council meeting and expressed their
concerns and anger with gun violence.
Councilwoman Quillman spoke in favor of Neighborhood Police Officers.
Councilwoman Reardon highlighted a meeting she had with Greg Peerbolte and Quinn
Adamowski concerning the Joliet Area Historical Museum.
Mayor O'Dekirk highlighted the Cruise Night at Terry D'Arcy, infrastructure projects, CAPA /St.
Pats meeting discussion on violence, East Side Neighborhood meeting via Zoom, ribbon
cutting at AGT located at 2742 Caton Farm Road, Slammers 1st Responder Night, Houbolt
Road Extension Press Conference. He also briefly addressed comments made during Public
Comments and thanked everyone for their dialogue.
