A brief discussion was held regarding committing additional funding to increase sidewalk repairs and additional investment in City infrastructure improvements. NEW BUSINESS (Not for Final Action or Recommendation): In response to Councilman Hug's question, Greg Ruddy, Public Works Director, explained the tree trimming bids were significantly over the City's estimate. A brief discussion was held regarding the City's senior citizen snow removal program. Mayor O'Dekirk requested a sign be erected at the City's gateways to honor the American Legion Band championship. He also requested Fire Chief Carey give an update on the Thriveworks program at the next Council Meeting. PUBLIC COMMENTS: None. MAYOR AND COUNCIL COMMENTS: Councilman Clement wished everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. Councilwoman Gavin wished everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and thanked Mr. Ghedotte for all his hard work and congratulated Mr. Sing on his appointment. Councilman Hug congratulated all the varies High School sports teams on their Page 10 of 11 City Council Meeting Meeting Minutes - Final November 15, 2022 accomplishments this season. He also wished everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. Councilman Mudron highlighted the Joliet Catholic volleyball team on their placement at the State Tournament. Councilwoman Quillman highlighted the I Remember Joliet's Christmas Past event at the Joliet Area Museum and also gave an update on Brother Ed Arambasich Chaplain for the Joliet Fire Department. She wished everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. Councilwoman Reardon thanked Jayne Bernhard, City Planner, for all her work with Project Acclaim and congratulated Ed and Gloria Dollinger and Michael Turk on their induction into the organization's 2022 Hall of Pride. She also highlighted the Habitat ReStore Tinsel and 'Tinis event. Mayor O'Dekirk highlighted the Habitat for Humanities Veteran's Build on Black Road, The Pointe on Essington Road ribbon cutting, Veteran's Day celebrations by Joliet Central High School, American Legion Post 1080, and Tezak's Funeral Home; 70th Anniversary of St. Paul's MB Church, Riverwalk Community Pantry, Eisenhower School Blue Ribbon Award, Joliet Junior College Presidential Investiture of Dr. Clyne G.H. Namuo. He also wished all the veteran's a Happy Veteran's Day and everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. ADJOURNMENT: A motion was made by Councilman Larry E.
