CITY MANAGER:
The Interim City Manager briefly discussed the downtown parking study. He highlighted Joliet
Township High School's 11th Annual Veteran's Ceremony and Will County Department of
Transportation open house for Mills Road and Cherry Hill Road area project. He gave an
update on CitizenVue requests.
PUBLIC COMMENTS:
Beth Corsetti, Pat Meade, and other St. Joseph Hospital nurses spoke regarding the staffing
issues.
Bob Cobb spoke regarding issues he is experiencing with this neighbor.
MAYOR AND COUNCIL COMMENTS:
Councilman Clement spoke regarding asylum seekers and an ordinance or resolution
concerning Joliet not being a sanctuary city. He also spoke regarding an Invest in Kids
Scholarship Tax Credit Program.
Councilman Guerrero spoke regarding the Joliet Township grant, disagreements turning into
violence, and his personal experience with a hate crime.

Councilman Hug spoke concerning the definition of sanctuary city. He also spoke regarding
the hate crime against a Plainfield family.
Mayor D'Arcy gave a statement concerning the Joliet Township grant.
Councilwoman Ibarra highlighted the Including You Fashion Extravaganza. She also spoke
regarding a personal violent act on her family and the Plainfield family.
Councilman Mudron also spoke regarding the Invest in Kids in Illinois Program.
Councilwoman Quillman requested a freeze on filling open positions to allow the new City
Manager to build a team. She highlighted the Annual Men that Cook event for the Child
Advocacy Center.
Councilman Cardenas discussed the definition of sanctuary city.
Councilman Hug discussed the perception of what a sanctuary city is.
CLOSED SESSION:
A motion was made by Councilwoman Suzanna Ibarra, seconded by Councilman Cesar
Guerrero, to enter into closed session to discuss personnel, collective bargaining, land
acquisition or conveyance, pending or threatened litigation after which the meeting will be
adjourned.

this hearing is legislative in nature and not administrative, an interested party shall be defined as someone who either
