The Interim City Manager explained the affects of tabling this item and the Interim Corporation Counsel Chris Regis further explained the museum would operate without an agreement from the City which could pose an issue if there was an issue with the physical structure of the building. Hug and Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman Abstain: Mayor Terry D'Arcy CITY MANAGER: PUBLIC COMMENTS: Beth Corsetti Nurse at St. Joe's Hospital gave an update on their contract negotiations with the hospital. Nurse at St. Joe's Hospital spoke concerning negotiations of their contract. Pat Meade spoke regarding negotiations of St. Joe's nurses. Mayor D'Arcy addressed the nurses concerns and expressed his appreciation for their Page 11 of 13 City Council Meeting Meeting Minutes - Final December 5, 2023 service. A brief discussion was held regarding doctors also leaving St. Joe's Hospital and the hospital no longer providing palliative care services. MAYOR AND COUNCIL COMMENTS: Councilman Cardenas expressed his condolences to the Giarrante family. He thanks Rod Tonelli for his service as the Interim City Manager. Councilman Clement thanked Rod Tonelli for his service as Interim City Manager and expressed his condolences to the Giarrante family. Councilman Guerrero thanked Rod Tonelli for his service as Interim City Manager and expressed his condolences to the Giarrante family. Councilman Hug thanked Rod Tonelli for his service as Interim City Manager and expressed his condolences to the Giarrante family. Councilwoman Ibarra highlighted Small Business Saturday. She thanked Jan Nahorski for graffiti removal and expressed her support of the St. Joe's nursing staff. She congratulated her friend on becoming a grandmother. She briefly discussed the contracts for the police supervisors. Councilman Mudron thanked Rod Tonelli for his service. He highlighted an Aunt Martha's new facility in Basinger's Pharmacy and expressed his condolences to the Giarrante family. Councilwoman Quillman congratulated her nephew on their new baby and briefly discussed her vote on Council Memo #660-23: Resolution Approving and Authorizing the Execution of a Collective Bargaining Agreement with Illinois Fraternal Order of Police Labor Council and Joliet Police Supervisor's Association for 2023-2025. Councilwoman Reardon expressed her condolences to Giarrante family. She thanked Rod Tonelli and thanked him for his service. She took a straw poll to release the inspector general report to Greg Peerbolte at the museum. Mayor D'Arcy expressed his condolence to the Giarrante family. He thanked Rod Tonelli for his service as Interim City Manager. Interim City Manager Rod Tonelli thanked the Mayor and Council for their confidence in him and their support . As this hearing is legislative in nature and not administrative, an interested party shall be defined as someone who either owns property within 600 feet of the proposed development site, or a member or official representative of an affected governmental body; the remainder of those who wish to be heard shall be classified as public speakers. Interested parties will present second. Once the interested parties have completed, public speakers will be heard.
