ROLL CALL Present Gary Jones, Kim Hudgens, Steven Voight, Chairperson Tony Arellano, Kevin Huckfeldt and Veronica Pollard Absent Chairperson Pam Heavens, Sherry Voight and Billie Jo Adams APPROVAL OF MINUTES TMP-5462 Attachments: Minutes - 111522 A motion was made by Steven Voight, seconded by Kim Hudgens, to approve the Committee on Citizens with Disabilities Minutes from November 15, 2022. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Jones, Hudgens, Voight, Chairperson Arellano, Huckfeldt and Pollard Absent: Chairperson Heavens, Voight and Adams CITIZENS TO BE HEARD ON AGENDA ITEMS This section is for anyone wanting to speak regarding agenda items and are allowed a maximum of 4 minutes. It is not a question and answer period and staff, and the Committee members do not generally respond to public comments. The City Clerk has a copy of the public speaking procedures; please note, speakers who engage in conduct injurious to the harmony of the meeting shall be called to order by the Presiding Officer and may forfeit the opportunity to speak. Chairman Arellano spoke about the sign language interpreters. Ms. Pollard stated that she has a lot of resources for interpreters. CITIZEN VUE PRESENTATION Ms. Kirsten Benson, Information Desk, displayed a PowerPoint presentation to the Committee regarding information about the vue work citizen vue app and online portal. It's free and available to all citizens. Chairman Arellano made a few comments. Mr. Voight inquired about the handicap parking signs that vary in fine fees. Ms. Benson responded. Ms. McNichol said since there is an anonymity allowed within the app and on the website, the City would not catch any demographic data because you do not have to provide it . Ms. Pollard asked how often the app is updated. Ms. Benson said the updates are probably once or twice a year. A motion was made by Steven Voight, seconded by Kim Hudgens, to request a meeting be set-up with Staff to review Citizen Vue for more information. The motion carried by the following vote: Page 1 of 3 Committee on Citizens with Disabilities Meeting Minutes - Final March 21, 2023 Aye: Jones, Hudgens, Voight, Chairperson Arellano, Huckfeldt and Pollard Absent: Chairperson Heavens, Voight and Adams DISCUSS ADA PUBLIC WORKS TRANSITION PLAN Mr. Greg Ruddy, Director of Public Works, explained the ADA Public Works Transition Plan to the Committee. Ms. Pollard asked if there are any plans of making Jefferson Street ADA. Mr. Ruddy responded. Mr. Arellano asked if Mr. Ruddy has a proposed date of when 100% of what they are proposing will be completed. Mr. Ruddy responded the transition plan will have a draft in a couple of weeks. Mr. Jones inquired about bus shelters. Mr. Ruddy responded that is handled by PACE. NEW OR OLD BUSINESS, NOT FOR FINAL ACTION OR RECOMMENDATION Mr. Arellano inquired about training for the Open Meetings Act. Ms. McNichol responded. Mr. Arellano commented about a Chamber of Commerce dinner he attended a few weeks ago. Mr. Arellano inquired about a transportation study. Mr. Hudgens said she is only aware of the survey that the County is doing. Ms. McNichol briefly spoke about the transportation study that the County is doing with PACE. Mr. Jones said that the buses do not have the voice that announces all of the stops anymore . Ms. McNichol said she can look into that.
