ROLL CALL Present Chairperson Tony Arellano, Pam Heavens, Kim Hudgens, Gary Jones, Riley Spreadburry, Steven Voight, and John Jamontas Absent Billie Jo Adams, and Sherry Voight APPROVAL OF MINUTES Approval of Minutes for September 17, 2024 TMP-7819 Attachments: MeetingMinutes10-Oct-2024-08-19-01.pdf A motion was made by Gary Jamontas and seconded by Kim Hudgens, to approve. COUNCIL MEMO #TMP-7819: Approval of Meeting Minutes from 9/17/2024. The motion carried by the following vote: These minutes were approved. None NEW OR OLD BUSINESS, NOT FOR FINAL ACTION OR RECOMMENDATION Presentation: CitizenVue TMP-7811 Kirsten Benson, from City of Joliet Information Services joins with a Presentation on the downloading and usage of CitizenVue engagement app. This app is used as an efficient and user-friendly way to report code violations or concerns throughout Joliet. The new feature to report ADA concerns is highlighted. Discussion: Health Equity - promoting health and reducing TMP-7813 health inequities for people with disabilities. Page 1 of 2 Committee on Citizens with Disabilities Meeting Minutes - Pending Approval October 15, 2024 Caitlin Daly, of the Health Deparment's MAPP Collaborative joins in the discussion of health equity, and the Community Health Needs Assessment. The new collection of data for the 2025 Report presents the opportunity to better reflect the Disability Community in the area, as the reported disability rates have been climbing. The current data is showing rising rent rates and disparities of being "house poor". Additional discussions surrounding the stigma of disabilities, and negative public perception. Discussion: Requested Edits to ByLaws TMP-7812 Attachments: BYLAWS OF THE CITY OF Joliet.docx The previously submitted bylaws are discussed, and necessary revisions need to be made following guidance from existing ordinances. Due to the bylaws not being discussed amongst the Committee, the City liaison will forward all bylaws (and revisions) along with the relevant standing City ordinances. Any future revisions of the requested bylaws will have to follow the existing ordinances before submitting. Dwight Bendel comments on the concerns around private contractors who plow local businesses, and obstruct sidewalks/public right of ways, leaving them inaccessible by all, including those with disabilities.
