ROLL CALL Present Councilwoman Bettye Gavin, Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman and Cesar Guerrero APPROVAL OF MINUTES TMP-4923 Attachments: 090722 A motion was made by Cesar Guerrero, seconded by Councilwoman Jan Quillman, to approve the Diversity & Community Relations Committee Minutes from the September 7, 2022. Councilwoman Quillman requested the presentation that she did not receive from the last meeting. Ms. McNichol responded. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Councilwoman Gavin, Councilwoman Hallums Quillman and Guerrero CITIZENS TO BE HEARD ON AGENDA ITEMS This section is for anyone wanting to speak regarding agenda items and are allowed a maximum of 4 minutes. None. MISSION STATEMENT REVIEW Mr. Regis, Deputy Corporation Counsel, stated there has been a request to table this item based on a scheduling conflict. A motion was made by Councilwoman Jan Quillman, seconded by Cesar Guerrero, to table the Mission Statement Review until the next Committee meeting. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Councilwoman Gavin, Councilwoman Hallums Quillman and Guerrero PRESENTATION FROM NON-VIOLENT CITIES PROJECT Mr. Doug Kasper, Non-Violent Cities Project, appeared along with several members of the steering committee. Mr. Kasper gave a brief presentation with background information about the non-violent project. Ms. Maria Aracelia Rosas added more detailed information about the project to the Committee. Councilwoman Quillman asked if they had contacted their state legislators and state senators . She responded they have.
