ROLL CALL Present Councilwoman Bettye Gavin and Cesar Guerrero Absent Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman APPROVAL OF MINUTES A motion was made by Cesar Guerrero, seconded by Councilwoman Bettye Gavin, to approve minutes from the March 7, 2023 meeting. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Councilwoman Gavin and Guerrero Absent: Councilwoman Hallums Quillman CITIZENS TO BE HEARD ON AGENDA ITEMS This section is for anyone wanting to speak regarding agenda items and are allowed a maximum of 4 minutes. It is not a question and answer period and staff, and the Committee members do not generally respond to public comments. The City Clerk has a copy of the public speaking procedures; please note, speakers who engage in conduct injurious to the harmony of the meeting shall be called to order by the Presiding Officer and may forfeit the opportunity to speak. PRESENTATION; HOUSING AUTHORITY OF JOLIET Mr. Michael Simelton, Director of Housing Authority of Joliet, gave a PowerPoint presentation regarding public housing in it's present state and moving forward. Councilman Guerrero inquired about the timeline for the old Country Club site. Mr. Simelton responded. PRESENTATION; WILL-GRUNDY MEDICAL CLINIC, CDBG-CV NON-CONGREGATE SHELTER WRAP UP Ms. Shawn West, Director of Will-Grundy Medical Clinic, gave a presentation about the Street Outreach Program, CDBG-CV Non-Congregate Shelter. Ms. McNichol inquired about the CDBG-CV money. Ms. West responded. NEW OR OLD BUSINESS, NOT FOR FINAL ACTION OR RECOMMENDATION Mr. Doug Casper, Chairperson for the Non-Violent City Project, spoke about the Non-Violent City Project. A citizen asked who does the Community Concerns help? She applied to Community Concerns over a year ago and she was told the funds ran out. Ms. McNichol is going to give her the correct contact information after the meeting. A citizen thanked Councilwoman Gavin for her time and commitment to the City. ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Councilman Cesar Guerrero, seconded by Councillwoman Bettye Gavin, to adjourn.
