Ms. Erica Ruggiero, an Page 1 of 2 Joliet Historic Preservation Commission Meeting Minutes September 27, 2023 architectural historian from McGuire Igleski & Associates and the project’s consultant, then delivered the second part of the presentation, which insisted of a review of the project area, final boundaries of the pending district, developmental history of the downtown, and key buildings. Commissioners had questions regarding the district boundaries, owner consent, and tax credits. Ms. Bernhard and Ms. Ruggiero responded to these questions. Only one member of the public attended the meeting, which was Councilwoman Reardon who attended in part. Ms. Bernhard noted that the City Center Partnership will also be highlighting this project at their Thursday October 5th Owners and Manager’s meeting during which Ms. Bernhard will present this same information. This nomination will be reviewed by the Illinois Historic Sites Advisory Committee at their Friday October 27th meeting. ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Sara Stovall, seconded by Kailee Lowry, to adjourn the meeting. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Johnson, Lowry, Merwin, Stovall and Spiegel This meeting will be held in an accessible location.
