CALL TO ORDER DECLARATION OF QUORUM Present Candace Johnson, Kailee Lowry, Sharon Merwin, Ken Spiegel and Steven Wright Absent Quinn Adamowski, Brian Bessler, Mary Beth Gannon, Kevin Heinemann, Aaron Mikottis and Sara Stovall APPROVAL OF MINUTES April 27, 2022 Joliet Historic Preservation Commission TMP-4646 Committee-of-the-Whole Workshop Meeting Minutes Attachments: 04-27-22 COW Meeting Minutes JB A motion was made by Sharon Merwin, seconded by Kailee Lowry, to approve the April 27, 2022 Joliet Historic Preservation Commission Committee-of-the-Whole Workshop Meeting Minutes. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Johnson, Merwin and Spiegel Absent: Adamowski, Bessler, Beth Gannon, Heinemann, Mikottis and Stovall Abstain: Lowry and Wright Page 1 of 3 Joliet Historic Preservation Commission Meeting Minutes October 26, 2022 Committee of the Whole CITIZENS TO BE HEARD ON AGENDA ITEMS This section is for anyone wanting to speak regarding agenda items and are allowed a maximum of 4 minutes. It is not a question and answer period and staff, and the Commission members do not generally respond to public comments. The City Clerk has a copy of the public speaking procedures; please note, speakers who engage in conduct injurious to the harmony of the meeting shall be called to order by the Presiding Officer and may forfeit the opportunity to speak. COMMITTEE AND STAFF REPORTS a.Staff Report Ms. Bernhard gave an update on the St. John's neighborhood historic resource survey. The Consultant has requested additional funding to complete the survey, the City Council will review and decide on additional fees at the November council meeting. Ms. Bernhard gave an updates on the Downtown National Register of Historic Places project and the Railroad museum project. Ms. Bernhard gave updates on the historic residential & commercial design guideline projects. Ms. Bernhard gave an update on the Barrett's Hardware building hotel project. Ms. Bernhard and the commissioners discussed the demolition of a building next to the Barrett's Hardware building. Ms. Bernhard announced the St. Mary Carmelite Building was sold recently and the new owners would like to open a banquet facility. b.Committee of the Whole (COW) There was no discussion on this subject. Historic Commercial Design Guidelines Manual – Review TMP-4640 and Discussion Attachments: Joliet_CommercialDesignGuidelines_08192022 Ms. Bernhard gave a presentation for the Historic Residential Design Guidelines manual. B. Historic Residential Design Guidelines Manual TMP-4641 Attachments: Joliet Historic Residential Design Guidelines Manual COMMISSIONER COMMENTS There was no discussion on this subject.
