PRESENTATION: Serve Illinois Commission Recognizing City of Joliet Community Risk Reduction Program Finalist of Governors Hometown Award 2022 Cecilia Martinez, Volunteer Programs Coordinator with Serve Illinois, gave a brief overview of the Serve Illinois Program Andres Fernandez, Executive Director with Serve Illinois, congratulated and thanked the City of Joliet Fire Department, the Will-Grundy Medical Center, and the City of Joliet for their work and support of the Community Risk Reduction Program. Fire Chief Carey spoke regarding the City's Community Risk Reduction Program. Mayor D'Arcy made a statement regarding the recent Joliet Township grant for asylum seekers. A brief discussion was held regarding the grant and the difference between the City and the Township governments. Pat Smith spoke regarding the Joliet Township asylum seekers grant. Mayor D'Arcy confirmed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) will not be signed by the City of Joliet. Elizabeth Giacomi spoke regarding the Joliet Township asylum seekers grant. Ray Slattery, Joliet Township Trustee, confirmed he was unaware of the grant for asylum seekers. Robert Webb spoke regarding the Joliet Township asylum seekers grant. Downtown Parking Operations and Management Study Director of Public Works Greg Ruddy introduced Ben Sands with WGI.
