City of Joliet 150 West Jefferson Street Joliet, IL 60432 Meeting Minutes - Final Wednesday, June 2, 2021 4:00 PM Council Chambers, City Hall Prison Committee Committee Members Bettye Gavin Cesar Guerrero Sherri Reardon Prison Committee Meeting Minutes - Final June 2, 2021 Page 1 of 1 Prison Committee Meeting Minutes - Final June 2, 2021 As Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois Plan continues, Governor Pritzker is moving Illinois forward to a Bridge to Phase 5 mitigation on Friday, May 14, 2021. In order to adhere to social distancing guidelines, the capacity in Council Chambers will remain at 18 members of the public. During meetings, any member of the public physically present in the Council Chambers in excess of the limit will be asked to wait in another room with live feed to the meeting until the Citizens To Be Heard on Agenda Items section or Public Comments section of the meeting has commenced. Speakers will be rotated into Council Chambers to allow everyone an opportunity to speak. Pursuant to the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity’s Guidelines, it is recommended that any individual appearing in-person wear a face-covering to cover their nose and mouth. Citizens who are unable to attend the meeting can email comments in advance of the meeting to publiccomment@joliet.gov. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Approval of Minutes: TMP-1772 May 25, 2021 Attachments: 2021-05-25 Meeting Minutes A motion was made by Councilwoman Sherri Reardon, seconded by Councilman Cesar Guerrero, to approve the Minutes of the May 25, 2021 Prison Committee Meeting. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Councilwoman Gavin, Councilwoman Reardon and Councilman Guerrero AGENDA ITEMS Disc Golf and Use Agreement ID-399-20 Attachments: Agreement - Disc Golf COI CITY OF JOLIET 2021_03_12 COI JOLIET AREA HISTORICAL MUSEUM 2021_03_12 Assistant Corporation Counsel, Chris Regis, gave a brief update on the disc golf agreement, specifically regarding the additional paragraph related to breach of the agreement. A brief discussion was held regarding paragraph 6 which pertains to Accountability. Page 1 of 2 Prison Committee Meeting Minutes - Final June 2, 2021 A motion was made by Councilwoman Sherri Reardon, seconded by Councilman Cesar Guerrero, to recommend for approval to the Full Council #ID-399-20: Disc Golf and Use Agreement. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Councilwoman Gavin, Councilwoman Reardon and Councilman Guerrero PUBLIC COMMENT None. NEW OR OLD BUSINESS, NOT FOR FINAL ACTION OR RECOMMENDATION Councilman Guerrero addressed the need for remediation of the land, and further discussions were had related to the same. ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Councilman Guerrero, seconded by Councilwoman Reardon, to adjourn.
