ROLL CALL Present Councilman Joe Clement and Councilman Cesar Cardenas Absent Councilwoman Suzanna Ibarra ALSO PRESENT: Deputy Corporation Counsel - Chris Regis, City Clerk - Christa Desiderio, City Planner - Jayne Bernhard, Chief Executive Officer for the Joliet Area Museum - Greg Peerbolte. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Approval of Minutes: TMP-5850 Prison Minutes - March 21, 2023 Attachments: Prison Minutes - March 21, 2023.pdf A motion was made by Councilman Cesar Cardenas, seconded by Councilman Joe Clement, to approve the minutes of the Prison Committee for March 21, 2023. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Councilman Clement and Councilman Cardenas Absent: Councilwoman Ibarra CITIZENS TO BE HEARD ON AGENDA ITEMS None. CONSTRUCTION UPDATE – Greg Peerbolte, Chief Executive Officer - Joliet Historical Museum PRISON PROGRAMS AND EVENTS UPDATE - Greg Peerbolte ADVANCE OF REIMBURSABLE ENGINEERING COSTS Greg Peerbolte - Chief Executive Officer - Joliet Area Museum, gave a lengthy overview of past events and projects, sinkhole repair, and building repairs to the administration building, east and west cell houses, chapel, and the hospital to stop the deterioration . A brief discussion was held regarding the possibility of overnight camping at the Prison site, having Finance Committee discuss and review the $131,046.43 advance that will be reimbursable with grant funds, and grant monies being utilized for the previously discussed building repairs. DISCUSSION: Page 1 of 2 Prison Committee Meeting Minutes - Pending Approval May 24, 2023 13th Floor Lease Extension - Chris Regis, Deputy Corporation Counsel Deputy Corporation Counsel Chris Regis discussed the lease extension for 13th Floor. A motion was made by Councilman Joe Clement, seconded by Councilman Cesar Cardenas, to recommend for approval the 13th Floor Lease Extension to the full Council. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Councilman Clement and Councilman Cardenas Absent: Councilwoman Ibarra PUBLIC COMMENT None. NEW OR OLD BUSINESS, NOT FOR FINAL ACTION OR RECOMMENDATION None. CLOSED SESSION: A motion was made by Councilman Cesar Cardenas, seconded by Councilman Joe Clement, to enter into closed session to discuss property acquisition.
