Hug Public Safety Committee Meeting Minutes - Final November 17, 2020 Page 1 of 1 Public Safety Committee Meeting Minutes - Final November 17, 2020 The Governor’s Office and the Illinois Department of Public Health activated a Tier 2 mitigation plan for Region 7 (Will and Kankakee Counties), Region 8 (DuPage and Kane Counties) and Region 5 (Southern Illinois), effective Wednesday, November 11, 2020. The new mitigation plan limits in-person meetings to 10 people. During meetings, any member of the public physically present in the Council Chambers in excess of the limit will be asked to wait in another room with live feed to the meeting until the Citizens To Be Heard on Agenda Items section or Public Comments section of the meeting has commenced. Speakers will be rotated into Council Chambers to allow everyone an opportunity to speak. Pursuant to the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity’s Guidelines, it is recommended that any individual appearing in-person wear a face-covering to cover their nose and mouth. Citizens who are unable to attend the meeting can email comments in advance of the meeting to publiccomment@joliet.gov. ROLL CALL Present Jan Hallums Quillman and Larry E. Hug, seconded by Jan Hallums Quillman, to approve the Minutes of the October 6, 2020 and October 20, 2020 Public Safety Committee Meeting. Councilwoman Quillman stated for the record that Jonathan Marquardt declined entering the Public Safety Committee meeting. A motion was made by Hug, seconded by Hallums Quillman, to recommend for approval to the full Council the Ordinance Amending the Current HAZMAT Cost Recovery Ordinance and Authorization to enter into a Service Agreement with Fire Recovery USA to begin January 1, 2021 and an Ordinance Amending Chapter 12, Section 12-14, Code Ordinance of the City of Joliet Code of Ordinances. The first item on the agenda will be Mental Health First Aid. Fire Chief briefly discussed Fire Inspections, Public Education Community Outreach and Mental Health First Aid. There was a brief discussion on Mental Health First Aid and Fire Inspections. ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Larry E. Hug, seconded by Jan Hallums Quillman, to adjourn.
