A motion was made by Councilman Hug, seconded by Councilman Clement, to
approve the Minutes from the May 18, 2021 Public Safety Committee Meeting.
The motion carried by the following vote:

Mr. Killian referenced a letter which mentions that the Joliet Police Department intends to
withdraw from the Task Force.
Mr. Killian gave a brief history of Tri-County. He discussed auto theft trends. He gave a
summary of benefits Tri-County offers to the City of Joliet. He spoke about Tri-County
statistics and recoveries.
There was a brief discussion regarding auto theft reporting.
Sergeant Johnson spoke about auto theft reporting.
There was a brief discussion regarding auto theft reporting.
Mr. Killian spoke in favor of the Task Force and wants to find the best solution for the Joliet
Police Department to stay in the Task Force.
Will County State's Attorney Glasgow spoke in favor of the Task Force.
Kankakee State's Attorney Rowe spoke in favor of the Task Force.
Grundy County Sheriff Briley spoke in favor of the Task Force.
City Manager Capparelli spoke if favor of the withdraw from the Task Force.
Chief Malec spoke in favor of the Task Force.
Councilman Hug spoke in favor of the Task Force.
Councilman Clement spoke in favor of the Task Force.
Councilwoman Quillman spoke in favor of the Task Force.
A motion was made by Councilman Clement, seconded by Councilman Hug, to recommend
for approval to the full Council for the Joliet Police Department to stay in the Task Force.
The motion carried by the following vote:
Aye: Hallums Quillman, Hug and Clement
