In compliance with Governor Pritzker’s mandate, any individual appearing in person must wear a face-covering to cover their nose and mouth. Citizens who are unable to attend the meeting can email comments in advance of the meeting to publiccomment@joliet.gov. ROLL CALL Present Councilwoman Jan Quillman, Councilman Larry E. Hug and Councilman Joe Clement ALSO PRESENT: Interim Chief of Police Robert Brown, Deputy Chief Carlos Matlock, Fire Chief Greg Blaskey, IT Manager Chris Sternal, Bob Okon - The Herald-News APPROVAL OF MINUTES A motion was made by Councilman Hug, seconded by Councilman Clement, to approve the minutes of the September 7, 2021, Public Safety Committee Meeting. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Councilwoman Quillman, Councilman Hug and Councilman Clement TMP-2641 Attachments: Minutes 09-07-21 CITIZENS TO BE HEARD ON AGENDA ITEMS None. CONTRACTS Amendment #2 CMS Medicare Ground Data Collection of the TMP-2644 Original Andres Medical Agreement/Contract Chief Blaskey briefly discussed Amendment #2 CMS Medicare Ground Data Collection of the Original Andres Medical Agreement/Contract in the amount of $35,000.00 to be paid in May 2023. Award of Contract for Body Worn Camera Program 517-21 Attachments: Approver Report Mr. Sternal spoke about the body worn camera program in the amount of $1,026,000.00 to be paid in four years. PURCHASES Purchase of 88 SCBA air packs, 176 SCBA air bottles, and 114 TMP-2672 SCBA masks from Municipal Emergency Services Attachments: JOLIET FD SCOTT X3 PRO AIR PACK QUOTE 10-2021 Page 1 of 3 Public Safety Committee Meeting Minutes - Final November 2, 2021 Fire Chief Blaskey discussed the purchase of 88 SCBA air packs, 176 SCBA air bottles, and 114 SCBA masks from Municipal Emergency Services in the amount of $652,450.00. He said that the Fire Department has been selected to receive a grant from FEMA through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant program in the amount of $652.480.00. The grant requires the City of Joliet to match $59,316.36 and submit for the AFG FEMA grant award in the amount of $593,163.64. A motion was made by Councilman Clement, seconded by Councilman Hug, to recommend for approval to the Full Council Contract Item No's TMP-2644,517-21, and TMP-2672. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Councilwoman Quillman, Councilman Hug and Councilman Clement ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS A Resolution Approving and Authorizing the Acceptance and 542-21 Implementation of a 2021 Justice Assistance Grant from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, Bureau of Justice Assistance Attachments: Resolution Approver Report Deputy Chief Carlos Matlock discussed a 2021 Justice Assistance Grant from the U.S. Department of Justice for the amount of $57,537.00. A motion was made by Councilman Hug, seconded by Councilman Clement, to recommend for approval to the full Council Resolution Approving and Authorizing the Acceptance and Implementation of a 2021 Justice Assistance Grant from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, Bureau of Justice Assistance for the amount of $57,537.00. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Councilwoman Quillman, Councilman Hug and Councilman Clement NEW OR OLD BUSINESS, NOT FOR FINAL ACTION OR RECOMMENDATION None. PUBLIC COMMENTS None.
