ROLL CALL Present Councilwoman Jan Quillman, Councilman Larry E. Hug and Councilman Joe Clement ALSO PRESENT: Deputy Chief Sherrie Blackburn, Deputy Chief Chris Botzum, Fire Chief Greg Blaskey, Fleet Director Jeff Price, and Operating Engineer Brent Fraser APPROVAL OF MINUTES TMP-3684 Attachments: Minutes 03-01-2022 A motion was made by Councilman Clement, seconded by Councilman Hug, to approve the Minutes of the March 1, 2022 Public Safety Committee Meeting. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Councilwoman Quillman, Councilman Hug and Councilman Clement CITIZENS TO BE HEARD ON AGENDA ITEMS This section is for anyone wanting to speak regarding agenda items and are allowed a maximum of 4 minutes. None. PURCHASES Purchase of Rescue Boat TMP-3685 Fire Chief Blaskey discussed Purchase of one rescue boat for the Joliet Fire Department. A motion was made by Councilman Hug, seconded by Councilman Clement, to recommend for approval Purchase of Rescue Boat. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Councilwoman Quillman, Councilman Hug and Councilman Clement Standardization of Fire Turnout Gear TMP-3686 A motion was made by Councilman Clement, seconded by Councilman Hug, to recommend for approval to the Full Council Standardization of Fire Turnout Gear. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Councilwoman Quillman, Councilman Hug and Councilman Clement Page 1 of 3 Public Safety Committee Meeting Minutes - Final May 3, 2022 Purchase of the Required Materials to Upfit Two (2) Ford Transit TMP-3687 Vans into Prisoner Transport Vehicles (PTVs) A motion was made by Councilman Hug, seconded by Councilman Clement, to recommend for approval to the Full Council Purchase of the Required Materials to Upfit Two (2) Ford Transit Vans into Prisoner Transport Vehicles (PTVs). The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Councilwoman Quillman, Councilman Hug and Councilman Clement Purchase of Chain Link Perimeter Fencing, and Privacy Slats for TMP-3695 JPD West Side Sub-Station (7196 W. Caton Farm Rd.) Attachments: 2022 West Station Fencing Gate Security Fence Bids A motion was made by Councilman Clement, seconded by Councilman Hug, to recommend for approval to the Full Council Purchase of Chain Link Perimeter Fencing, and Privacy Slats for JP West Side Sub-Station (7196 W. Caton Farm Rd.) The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Councilwoman Quillman, Councilman Hug and Councilman Clement ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS Authorization to Purchase Radio Batteries and Replacement TMP-3697 Parts Attachments: Ordinance Amending 2022 Budget Radio and Battery Equipment Purchase 2022 2022 Portable Radios and Accessories QUOTE - Joliet Police Dept Batteries and Accessories A motion was made by Councilman Clement, seconded by Councilman Hug, to recommend for approval to the Full Council Authorization to Purchase Radio Batteries and Replacement Parts. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Councilwoman Quillman, Councilman Hug and Councilman Clement NEW OR OLD BUSINESS, NOT FOR FINAL ACTION OR RECOMMENDATION Replacement of all Portable Radios in 2023 for the Fire Department. Page 2 of 3 Public Safety Committee Meeting Minutes - Final May 3, 2022 Fire Chief Blaskey discussed replacement of all Portable Radios in 2023 for the Fire Department. A brief discussion was held regarding replacement of Portable Radios in 2023 for the Fire Department as well as the Police Department.
