Joliet Police and Fire Departments Radio Purchase in the TMP-4350
amount of $5,229,308.68
Deputy Fire Chief Carey gave an overview of this Council Memo.
There was a brief discussion on Joliet and Fire Departments Radio Purchase.

Councilwoman Quillman spoke about the new public safety things passed in Springfield. She
said we are home rule and would like to explore the possibility of rescinding some of those
things in our town.
DC Blackburn spoke about trailer bills and the Public SAFE-T Act.
Councilwoman asked the Police Department to come up with ideas to do something about the
SAFE-T Act. The Legal department will help move in the right direction.
A brief discussion was held on the Public SAFE-T Act.
Councilwoman Quillman spoke about citizen awareness; citizens will be notified of what is
being done and they will be asked for support as well.
