PURCHASES Purchase of Additional License Plate Reader Cameras and TMP-5867 Approval of a 5-Year Service Agreement with Flock Attachments: Flock Agreement Police Chief Bill Evans briefly explained the Purchase of Additional License Plate Reader Cameras and Approval of a 5-Year Service Agreement with Flock. Detective Jeff German gave brief examples of the use of the flock system. A motion was made by Councilwoman Sherri Reardon, seconded by Councilman Joe Clement, to recommend for approval COUNCIL MEMO #TMP-5867: Purchase of Additional License Plate Reader Cameras and Approval of a 5-Year Service Agreement with Flock, to the full Council. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Councilwoman Hallums Quillman, Councilman Clement and Councilwoman Reardon Request to Approve the Purchase and Upfit of 35 Dodge TMP-5861 Squad Vehicles not to Exceed $2,300,000 Page 1 of 5 Public Safety Committee Meeting Minutes - Final June 6, 2023 Jeff Price briefly explained the Request to Approve the Purchase and Upfit of 35 Dodge Squad Vehicles not to Exceed $2,300,000 There was a brief discussion on the ISPERN radios. A motion was made by Councilman Joe Clement, seconded by Councilwoman Sherri Reardon, to recommend for approval COUNCIL MEMO #TMP-5861: Request to Approve the Purchase and Upfit of 35 Dodge Squad Vehicles not to Exceed $2,300,000, to the full Council. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Councilwoman Hallums Quillman, Councilman Clement and Councilwoman Reardon Request to Purchase and Install 35 ISPERN Radios from TMP-5862 A-Beep Communications for $44,696.40 Jeff Price briefly explained the Request to Purchase and Install 35 ISPERN Radios from A-Beep Communications for $44,696.40 There was a brief discussion regarding Radios and good communication. Price answered questions regarding Radios. A motion was made by Councilwoman Sherri Reardon, seconded by Councilman Joe Clement, to approve COUNCIL MEMO #TMP-5862: Request to Purchase and Install 35 ISPERN Radios from A-Beep Communications for $44,696.40, to the full Council. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Councilwoman Hallums Quillman, Councilman Clement and Councilwoman Reardon Request to Approve the Purchase of 4 Ford F550 Ambulance TMP-5863 Chassis from Ron Tirapelli for $237,673.68 Jeff Price briefly explained the Request to Approve the Purchase of 4 Ford F550 Ambulance Chassis from Ron Tirapelli for $237,673.68 A motion was made by Councilman Joe Clement, seconded by Councilman Sherri Reardon, to approve COUNCIL MEMO #TMP-5863: Request to Approve the Purchase of 4 Ford F550 Ambulance Chassis from Ron Tirapelli for $237,673.68, to the full Council. Chief Carey/Jeff Price responded to Committee questions. A motion was made by Councilwoman Sherri Reardon, seconded by Councilman Joe Clement, to recommend for approval COUNCIL MEMO #TMP-5864: Purchase Four (4) Air Bag Restraint Systems for the Previously Approved Ambulances for $30,000, to the full Council. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Councilwoman Hallums Quillman, Councilman Clement and Councilwoman Reardon Purchase of a Web-Based Fire Inspection Program from First TMP-5852 Due Attachments: Agreement for Services.pdf Fire Chief Carey briefly explained Purchase of a Web-Based Fire Inspection Program from First Due The committee discussed the Web-Based Fire Program. A motion was made by Councilwoman Sherri Reardon, seconded by Councilman Joe Clement, to recommend for approval COUNCIL MEMO #TMP-5852: Purchase of a Web-Based Fire Inspection Program from First Due, to the full Council. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Councilwoman Hallums Quillman, Councilman Clement and Councilwoman Reardon Purchase of LIFEPAK Monitor/Defib Devices for the Joliet Fire ID-1236-20 Department from Stryker Medical in the amount of $197,296.20 Fire Chief Carey briefly explained Purchase of LIFEPAK Monitor/Defib Devices for the Joliet Fire Department from Stryker Medical in the amount of $197,296.20 A motion was made by Councilman Joe Clement, seconded by Councilwoman Sherri Reardon, to recommend for approval COUNCIL MEMO #ID-1236-20: Purchase of LIFEPAK Monitor/Defib Devices for the Joliet Fire Department from Stryker Medical in the amount of $197,296.20, to the full Council. Doug Kasper member of the Non-Violence Cities Project talked about violence in the City, addressing the murder on Tuesday. Wants to develop friendship with JPD. Sandra Thomas from Romeoville discussed bodies being found in the river and more security around the river. Deb Ziech, former District 86 board member, discussed the lockdown on 30th of May and her concern with District 86. Trista Brown founder of Speak Up, pleased that cameras will go along the river. Discussed additional security measures along the river. Janet Diaz discussed suicide awareness and possibly put up signs along the river with #211. Sandra Aguirre, District 86 Board member, discussed the lockdown on 30th of May and her concern with District 86. Chief Evans responded to the concerns regarding the lockdown.
