The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Councilman Clement, Councilwoman Hallums Quillman and Councilwoman Ibarra CITIZENS TO BE HEARD ON AGENDA ITEMS NONE AGENDA ITEMS Payment of First Due Invoice for Web Based Fire Inspection TMP-7541 Services in the amount of $30,333.50 Attachments: Joliet_First Due_Renewal 2024-25 Quote_Final for Signature Chief Carey briefly explains renewal. Councilman Clement asks question and Chief Carey answers. A motion was made by Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman, seconded by Councilwoman Suzanna Ibarra, to recommend for approval COUNCIL MEMO #TMP-7541: Payment of First Due Invoice for Web Based Fire Inspection Services in the amount of $30,333.50. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Councilman Clement, Councilwoman Hallums Quillman and Councilwoman Ibarra Amendment to the Compensation Scale for Crossing Guards TMP-7577 Page 1 of 4 Public Safety Committee Meeting Minutes - Final August 6, 2024 Attachments: Crossing Guard Summary 2024 Sgt. Weller briefly explains all the struggles with getting and keeping crossing guards. Councilwoman Quillman asks questions and Sgt. Weller answers. Councilman Clement mentions that the schools should help with the difference in cost and Sgt. Weller responds. Council has discussion regarding memo and safety for the children. A motion was made by Councilwoman Suzanna Ibarra, seconded by Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman, to recommend for approval COUNCIL MEMO #TMP-7577: Amendment to the Compensation Scale for Crossing Guards. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Councilman Clement, Councilwoman Hallums Quillman and Councilwoman Ibarra ORDINANCES NONE RESOLUTIONS Resolution Authorizing Execution of a Memorandum of TMP-7492 Understanding Between the City of Joliet and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives Regarding Reimbursement of Overtime Salary Costs Attachments: Resolution - ATF IGA ATF- FY25 MOU DC Botzum briefly explains. Council has alot of questions. A motion was made to COUNCIL MEMO #TMP-7550: Resolution Authorizing a Grant Program Agreement Between the State of Illinois (“State”) and the City of Joliet (“Joliet”) to Provide Transportation and Counseling Services for Seniors. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Councilman Clement, Councilwoman Hallums Quillman and Councilwoman Ibarra Resolution Authorizing a FOID Enforcement Grant Program TMP-7551 Agreement Between the State of Illinois (“State”) and the City of Joliet (“Joliet”) Attachments: FOID Enforcement Grant Resolution Joliet - FY25 Uniform Grant Agreement DC Botzum briefly explains. Councilman Clement has questions, DC Botzum answers. A motion was made by Councilwoman Suzanna Ibarra, seconded by Councilman Joe Clement, to recommend for approval COUNCIL MEMO #TMP-7551: Resolution Authorizing a FOID Enforcement Grant Program Agreement Between the State of Illinois (“State”) and the City of Joliet (“Joliet”). The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Councilman Clement, Councilwoman Hallums Quillman and Councilwoman Ibarra Resolution Requesting Authorization to Accept a Grant to Assist TMP-7552 Joliet’s Tobacco Enforcement Program Attachments: Tabacco Enforcement Grant Resolution Tabacco Enforcement Grant DC Botzum briefly explains. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Councilman Clement, Councilwoman Hallums Quillman and Councilwoman Ibarra NEW OR OLD BUSINESS, NOT FOR FINAL ACTION OR RECOMMENDATION Councilwoman Ibarra asks questions about LiDAR-Based Vehicle Detection and Warning System. Sgt. Weller explains answers, Council has brief discussion.
