City of Joliet 150 West Jefferson Street Joliet, IL 60432 Meeting Minutes - Final Tuesday, February 4, 2025 5:30 PM City Hall, Council Chambers Public Safety Committee Committee Members Councilman Joseph Clement, Chairperson Councilwoman Suzanna Ibarra Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman Public Safety Committee Meeting Minutes - Final February 4, 2025 Page 1 of 1 Public Safety Committee Meeting Minutes - Final February 4, 2025 ROLL CALL Present Councilman Joe Clement, Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman and Councilwoman Suzanna Ibarra ALSO PRESENT: Chief of Police William Evans, Deputy Chief of Police Robert Brown, Chief of Fire Jeff Carey APPROVAL OF MINUTES TMP-8135 Attachments: Minutes 1-7-2025 A motion was made by Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman, seconded by Councilwoman Suzanna Ibarra, to approve COUNCIL MEMO #TMP-8135: Minutes 1/7/2025. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Councilman Clement, Councilwoman Hallums Quillman and Councilwoman Ibarra CITIZENS TO BE HEARD ON AGENDA ITEMS None PRESENTATION Joliet Township Services and Data Sharing Initiative Presentation- LeShae Hudson, MHS LeShae Hudson, MHS did not come to the February 4th meeting so the Council voted to move the presentation to the March 4th meeting. A motion was made by Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman, seconded by Councilwoman Suzanna Ibarra, to remove Presentation and move it to the next Public Safety Meeting. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Councilman Clement, Councilwoman Hallums Quillman and Councilwoman Ibarra AGENDA ITEMS Approve the Expenditure to Thriveworks Community Mental TMP-8151 Health Program in the amount of $240,000.00 Chief Carey briefly explains. Councilwoman Quillman asks about suicide numbers and rates. Chief Carey answers. Councilwoman Ibarra loves the work they do for the community. Page 1 of 2 Public Safety Committee Meeting Minutes - Final February 4, 2025 ORDINANCES None RESOLUTIONS None NEW OR OLD BUSINESS, NOT FOR FINAL ACTION OR RECOMMENDATION Councilwoman Ibarra commented on the protest on Sunday and how she loved the way the Police Department handled it, and the excellent job they did. PUBLIC COMMENTS None ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Councilwoman Ibarra, seconded by Councilwoman Hallums Quillman, that this was adjourn. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Councilman Clement, Councilwoman Ibarra and Councilwoman Hallums Quillman This meeting will be held in an accessible location.
