current crime trends and our collaborative approach to addressing crime in Kansas City. This
will include a discussion with KCPD as part of an ongoing discussion with the committee and
KCPD concerning various public safety topics.

70-368 and enacting in lieu thereof a new section of like number and subject matter related
to street racing and sideshows.

Chapter 70 of the Code of Ordinances, Sections 70-365, 70-366, and 70-368, to enact in
lieu thereof a new section of like number and subject matter related to street racing and
sideshows. This ordinance will increase the violation of costs based on the standard for
professional impoundment.

“Administration,” by repealing and replacing certain sections to include municipal judges
currently in the Elected Officials Money Purchase Plan into the Employees’ Retirement
System and to change the required distribution date set by federal law in certain money
purchase plans, and establishing an effective date.

improvement - public safety sales tax for 15 years; setting forth the ballot language to be
used; directing the City Clerk to provide notice of election; amending Chapter 68, Article
VII, Code of Ordinances by enacting a new Section 68-447.5 contingent upon voter
approval; directing the City Clerk to provide notice to the Director of Revenue if the sales
tax question is passed by the voters; declaring the intent of the City Council to maintain the
currently imposed capital improvement - public safety sales tax through its current
expiration of June 30, 2026; and recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated
effective date.

definition of equitable economic development. This legislation also states that Equitable
Economic Development will be incorporated into the comprehensive economic
development policy.
