State of Missouri Department of Public Safety and funded by the United States Department
of Justice for gun violence risk assessment and response for participants in the Kansas City
problem-solving courts; and recognizing an accelerated effective date.

Tierney Clement, Municipal Court, presented. This ordinance approves acceptance of the Crisis
Intervention Program grant. This grant will allow expansion of this program by introducing a
specialized, evidence-based clinical screening tool for predicting future firearm violent risk, both
individuals likely to commit crimes with firearms and individuals who have or are likely to be
threatened with firearms. Eligible defendants will be referred to the case manager for six months
of intense case management including daily check-ins and connection with programs and services
identified by needs assessment or required by the judge. This project will address the
disproportionate impact of gun violence on Kansas City residence, especially young African
American makes. Services include temporary housing assistance to eligible defendants, which is a
major barrier faced by most specialty court individuals, many of who experience houselessness.

Accepting and approving a $1,581,818.00 grant award amendment with the Missouri
Department of Health and Senior Services to provide funding for HIV case management
services in Kansas City, Missouri; estimating and appropriating the additional sum of
$26,379.00, not previously appropriated, in the Health Grants Fund; and recognizing this
ordinance as having an accelerated effective date.

Sean Ryan, Health Department, presented. This ordinance approves acceptance of a grant award
amendment of $1,581,818.00 with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services to
provide funding for Ryan White Part B. This funding will help ensure that all residents with HIV
within the Kansas City Transitional Grant Area (KC-TGA) have access to medical care and support
services. Grant funds will remove barriers and enable persons with HIV be successful in treatment.
The funds will provide culturally sensitive Case Management, Referral for Health Care Support,
and Linkage to Care services to persons living with HIV in the KC-TGA.

circulating within our community.

funding to conduct tuberculosis control activities in the Kansas City, Missouri area. These
investigations serve to determine if exposure to others has occurred and also to find additional
cases of both active disease and LTBI in the community. Individuals with LTBI are offered
preventive treatment to reduce the chance of developing active disease later in life. This contract
provides funds to assist with investigations as well as to provide "Directly Observed Therapy"
(DOT) to ensure compliance and adequate treatment of the cases.

improve the likelihood of achieving favorable health outcomes.

units and an additional story for a warehouse development. The addition is focused in the center

buildings #4 & #5 to create one new building identified as building A. The proposed addition
requires a major amendment because the increase in square footage (33,708 square feet) is
greater than the allowed 2,000 square feet or 10% and the proposed addition (9 feet) is over the
allowed 9.6 inches or 6 feet. Public engagement as required by the Zoning and Development Code
