Sponsors: Robinson Justin Horn, J.D Brown, presented. This resolution is directing the City Manager to submit an application to join the Biophilic Cities Network and become a partner city. The Biophilic Cities includes cities from all over the world whose leaders strive to recognize the important connection between humans and the natural world. Greening neighborhoods has been shown to reduce crime, strengthen community collection, and research shows that greater proximity to nature provides numerous benefits to all Kansas City residents. Sponsors: Ellington Hold off Agenda Hold off Agenda Aviation 220110 Authorizing a $21,045,305.53 construction Change Order No. 3 with Ideker, Inc., for Schedule 2 and continued work on the construction project Reconstruct Runway 1L-19R at KCI Airport; and authorizing a maximum expenditure of $23,100,055.10 for Schedule 2 construction, for a total contract amount of $44,785,108.11. Jade Liska, Aviation, presented. This ordinance, authorizing the Director of Aviation to execute a construction change order with Ideker, Inc. for reconstruct runway 1L-19R at KCI Airport. This project is reconstructing the north end of the Runway 1L-19R; the project also includes rehabilitation of the runway’s electrical system and regrading of the west Runway Safety Area. This reconstruction is important for the airport to continue to operate in a manner that is safe and efficient for the traveling public including children, continuous work of the KCI infrastructure is vital to the operation of the Airport.
