Held until 3.2.22 Hold on Agenda Public Works Page 1 of 4 Transportation, Infrastructure and Meeting Minutes - Final February 23, 2022 Operations Committee 220182 Authorizing the Director of Public Works to execute a design professional services agreement with Alfred Benesch & Company in the amount of $445,000.00 for the 2022 Citywide Biennial Bridge Inspection program in compliance with Federal mandate. Nicolas Bosonetto, Public Works and Nick Folk presented. This ordinance, authorizes the Director of Public Works to execute a design professional services agreement with Alfred Benesch & Company for the Citywide Biennial Bridge Inspection program toward compliance with Federal requirements. The requirements dictate that all bridges and large culverts are inspected every two years. City staff is inspecting culverts in the City. The consultant will inspect all the bridge length structures and enter all of the City inspection data into the State of Missouri database controlled by MoDOT. This project will access the City’s transportation structural system to obtain the condition of bridges, and update data used in decisions for maintenance, rehabilitation, and reconstruction. This helps make the streets and bridges safer for traffic, thus allowing citizens safe travel along city streets. This resolution is authorizing the City Manager to establish a Construction Workforce Incubator that will help build career pathways within the construction industry, with the focus on reducing any barriers faced by women and people of color. Immediate Adoption as a Committee Substitute Aye: Councilmember Loar, Councilmember Bunch, Councilmember Robinson, Councilmember O'Neill, Councilmember Shields and Lucas RE-REFERRED Page 2 of 4 Transportation, Infrastructure and Meeting Minutes - Final February 23, 2022 Operations Committee 210732 Authorizing the City Manager to execute a First Amendment to Cooperative Agreement for Purchase and Use of Real Property; and authorizing the City Manager to enter into a City Parking Cooperation Agreement with the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority. Kerrie Tyndall, City Manager’s Office, presented. This ordinance authorizes the City Manager to enter into a City Parking Cooperation Agreement with KCATA and termination of the Parking Agreement for property on 3rd and Grand. The KCATA and City mutually desire to terminate this parking agreement to facilitate transit oriented development, and allow for the transfer of additional right of way needed to implement infrastructure improvements contemplated in the Riverfront Streetcar Extension and Grand Boulevard improvements including a new cycle track, street trees and sidewalks.
