220314 Authorizing a $12,000,000.00 design professional services contract with Burns &
McDonnell Engineering Company, Inc., for the Smart Sewer Program Management
Services, Renewal No. 1 project; and establishing an effective date.
Lisa Treese, KC Water, presented. This ordinance authorizes the Director of Water
Services to execute a design professional services contract renewal No. 1 with Burns &
McDonnell Engineering Company for the Smart Sewer Program Management Services
Project. The scope of services to be performed under this contract includes the following:
Program administration, project controls, asset data management services, adaptive
management planning to provide oversight and direction for program activities. This
project will also provide construction management support services for the
implementation of Smart Sewer Program projects. This includes sewer collection system
planning, assessment, and rehabilitation. Our services also encompass manhole
inspections, flow monitoring, and modeling analyses to support the Smart Sewer Program
implementation, as well as the City’s Annual Sewer Rehabilitation program.

220318 Adopting the Year One Bicycle Implementation Plan for the installation and design of
bicycle lanes and trails.
Jason Waldron and Maggie Green, Public Works, presented. This ordinance authorizes the
Director of Public Works to adopt a Year One Bicycle Implementation Plan for installation
of bicycle lanes and trails. This project will build a multimodal transportation network that
safely supports all modes of travel, focus on closing the gaps and completing the network;
build on success of existing facilities. Safe, accessible, and connected infrastructure for
everyone is a priority in Kansas City, the implementation plan for protected bicycle lanes
which includes a five year conceptual network.

Darrell Everett, and Ian Redhead, General Services, presented. This ordinance authorizes
the Management of Procurement Services to increase the term and supply contract with
J&D Equipment. Additional purchases, including snow equipment for new single terminal
and parking garage which have differing needs from the current terminal and parking
structure. These purchases are needed on top of the regular annual spend.

five-year renewal.
