Jade Liska, Aviation, presented. This ordinance authorizes an amendment No.5 with HNTB Corporation for Design Airport Development project at KCI Airport. This amendment will provide services for performing construction administration and observation for the Runway 9-27 pavement repairs. The pavement conditions need to be removed and replaced. Jason Waldron, Public Works, presented. This ordinance will authorize the Director of Transportation to enter into a contract with KCATA to provide transit services throughout the City and paratransit for elderly and persons with disabilities through the RideKC Freedom program; this would provide regular transit services and certain specialized services. A copy of the agreement is on file with the Director of Transportation of Public Works. Public Works and KCATA staff will continue to work to advance and implement transit priorities and current transit-supportive policies, projects and programs. Michael Shaw, Public Works, presented. This ordinance authorizes the Director of Public Works to execute a 10-year Franchise Agreement with Google Fiber Missouri, LLC. Google Fiber is no longer providing cable television in the Kansas City market but still would like to provide fiber optic infrastructure. Google Fiber owns, maintains, operates and controls a fiber optic infrastructure network in the Public ROW ("Network"). Matthew Muckenthaler, Public Works, presented. This agreement authorizes the Director of Public Works to execute a 40 year parking lease agreement with Flaherty &Collins, this ordinance will utilize property for an initial term of 5 years with seven, five year option periods for parking purposes. Jeff Martin and Bill White, KC Water Services, presented. This ordinance will authorize the Director of Water Services to enter into a construction contract with Haines & Associates Construction Company, for the automated metering infrastructure 2 project. This contract will assist Water Services Department’s reduction of water loss in its distribution system. The scope of work provided under this contract entails repair and replacement of automated meter readers; it may also include repairs to curb stops, service lines, and other appurtenances.
