Sponsors: Director of Aviation Jade Liska, Mallie Hare, Aviation Department and Cody Phillips, with Ideker, presented. The purpose of the project is to reconstruct Runway 1L/19R connectors in the amount of $13,623,926.00 for a maximum amount of $14,986,318.00. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will support 75% of the funding and the Aviation Department will support 25% of funds. Contractor’s will remove the surface pavement and primary pavement to address the lower structure of the existing pavement which will also realign the exit taxiways to improve the runway. Sponsors: Director of Public Works and Bunch Jason Waldron, Public Works Department, presented on this resolution. Approval of the resolution confirms support of the city’s grant application for bicycle/pedestrian bridge project in the amount of $9,761,208.00 which will require local matching funds from the Public Mass Transportation Fund. There was detailed discussion regarding the project. Committee members expressed their concerns regarding funding and how necessary the project needs to happen. Committee is in support of the project 100%.
