This ordinance approves Traffic Regulations No. 66057-66070, 66071-66076, 66077-66086, 66087-66105, and 66106-66127 as issued by the Director of Public Works in compliance with the City Code. These Traffic Regulations have undergone a 90-day period of publication and testing. All damaged signs and posts are sent to a recycling facility, while undamaged posts are reused for installing new signs. Additionally, the ordinance stipulates the purchase of new traffic sign supplies manufactured from recycled materials and includes changes to speed limits. Sponsors: Director of Public Works Nicolas Bosonetto and Todd LaTorella, Public Works, presented. This ordinance authorizes the Director of Public Works to execute Amendment No. 3 of the Design Professional Services Agreement with TranSystems Corporation for the N.E. 112th Street Improvements Project. Amendment No. 3 is necessary to finalize the design for NE 112th Street improvements from N Stark Avenue to the eastern city limits, including the construction of a new bridge over Fishing River Tributary and construction phase services. The current street is narrow and the bridge over the Fishing River Tributary is essentially a one-lane bridge. This project aims to widen the street and bridge and elevate the bridge above the floodplain to enhance safety. Sponsors: Director of Public Works and Lucas Angie Laurie, Uday Manepalli, and Bailey Waters, Public Works, presented. This resolution adopts an amendment to the Kansas City Vision Zero Action Plan to eliminate traffic deaths and serious injuries by 2030. It directs the City Manager to submit a grant application for the USDOT Safe Roads and Streets. Prospect Ave, between Linwood and 47th Street, is identified as one of the corridors with high crash rates. This resolution aims to improve city services by providing safer walking conditions and encouraging the use of the transit system.
