the Water Department to continue the Consent Decree with the United
States Environmental Protection Agency to help reduce the volume and
frequency of overflows from the City’s sewer system. The purpose of this
program is to provide regular maintenance for green infrastructure sites
across the City. The services under the facility repair and maintenance
contract is for routine maintenance of specified green infrastructure sites
including trash, sediment and debris removal, weed and pest control, and
vegetative pruning and edge control. A copy of the presentation is on file

current agreement to allow for ongoing inspections of the sidewalks
between the North City Limits and 20th Street. This is part of the Sidewalk
Asset Management Plan to improve sidewalk safety and identify any areas
that need attention. All inspections are expected to be completed within

Director of Public Works to execute a design service contract with Wilson &
Company for the design of curbs and sidewalks along the north side of MLK
Blvd. between Prospect Avenue and Benton Blvd. The Planning Sustainable
Places grant was awarded in 2022 to study the MLK Blvd. corridor, top
priority is to add sidewalks along the north side of the roadway which has
none, pedestrian signals, and pedestrian access for the bus routes. This
design consultant agreement will initiate the design of the sidewalks and will
also conduct the ground survey of the whole corridor for future

Bennington is a top priority due to E. coli bacteria related to human waste. In
response, the City has divided the sewer district into smaller districts so that
new sewers can drain into existing ones. The current project involves
updating and extending the sewer plans prepared in 2013. The purpose of
this project is to eliminate areas where public sanitary sewers are not

Manager of Procurement Services to execute a cooperative agreement with
Bridging the Gap, Inc. for the Leak Stoppers Program. This program involves
the Non-Profit working with KC Water to promote water conservation and fix
home water leaks in low-income urban core neighborhoods. The services
include water conservation kits, toilet flap replacement, toilet replacement,
and leak repairs. These services aim to reduce the amount of water used in
customers’ homes and the costs associated with unintended high water

Manager of Procurement Service to execute a professional, technical services
contract with Mid America Assistance Coalition for the low-income assistance
program. This program will help residents pay their water bills. The Water
Services Utility Funding Task Force recommended increasing the amount of
customer assistance to benefit eligible low-income households in paying their
water, wastewater, and storm water utility bills. The Water Services
Department aims to contract with one umbrella social service agency, which
will then coordinate assistance with other local social services.

with Doxim Utilitec. This project involves printing and mailing bills for water
services and other consumer correspondence using Kansas City Water
Information Center software. Every day, the contractor receives an
electronically delivered file containing the current day’s bills for water
services, delinquent and turn-off notices, and other consumer
correspondence. The contractor then generates the bills for water services,
provides the envelopes and letter stock used to print and mail out
consumers' water bills and letters.

health and the environment. The initial planning study for the gates feasibility

The city provides several ways for residents to watch City Council meetings:
• Livestream on the city’s website at www.kcmo.gov
• Livestream on the city’s YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/watch?

• Watch Channel 2 on your cable system. The channel is available through Time Warner
Cable (channel 2 or 98.2), AT&T U-verse (channel 99 then select Kansas City) and Google
Fiber on Channel 142.
• To watch archived meetings, visit the City Clerk’s website and look in the Video on Demand
section: http://kansascity.granicus.com/ViewPublisher.php?view_id=2
The City Clerk`s Office now has equipment for the hearing impaired for use with every
meeting. To check out the equipment please see the secretary for each committee. Be
prepared to leave your Driver`s License or State issued Identification Card with the secretary
and she will give you the equipment. Upon returning the equipment your license will be
returned.
