Jason Waldron and Daisy Dixson, from the Public Works, presented. This ordinance authorizes the Director of Public Works to enter into a construction contract with Sarai Construction for sidewalk repairs, was thoroughly discussed. Additionally, they made a point of acknowledging the Civil Rights and Equal Opportunity Department's specific targets for 15% participation from Minority Business Enterprises (MBE) and Women Business Enterprises (WBE). Jason Waldron and Daisy Dixson, Public Works, presented. This ordinance authorized the director of Public Works to proceed with the execution of a construction contract with Sarai Construction. The contract pertains to the design, repair, maintenance, or construction of public improvements, all of which are geared towards enhancing walk ability and ensuring the safety of pedestrians. Additionally, a copy of the presentation related to this initiative has been made available and is on file with the office of the City Clerk for review. The goal of this ordinance is to improve walk ability and safety for pedestrians. The approved goals for this project are 15% MBE and 15% WBE. This ordinance grants the Director of Public Works the authority to enter into a cooperative, non-exclusive agreement with Bird Rides, allowing them to operate until December 31, 2026. The purpose of this ordinance is to help with managing clutter control, organizing large events, and detecting double-riding technology.
