This ordinance authorizes the Director of Public Works to enter into a construction contract with Sarai Construction for sidewalk repairs, was thoroughly discussed. Additionally, they made a point of acknowledging the Civil Rights and Equal Opportunity Department's specific targets for 15% participation from Minority Business Enterprises (MBE) and Women Business Enterprises (WBE). The contract pertains to the design, repair, maintenance, or construction of public improvements, all of which are geared towards enhancing walk ability and ensuring the safety of pedestrians. The goal of this ordinance is to improve walk ability and safety for pedestrians. The approved goals for this project are 15% MBE and 15% WBE. Sponsors: Director of Public Works Matthew Muckenthaler and Michael Gallick, Public Works Department presented. This ordinance grants the Director of Public Works the authority to enter into a cooperative, non-exclusive agreement with Bird Rides, allowing them to operate until December 31, 2026. The purpose of this ordinance is to help with managing clutter control, organizing large events, and detecting double-riding technology.
